Top less, Naked, Doorless how do like it?

I was just wondering what people's preference or routine is for how you ride your gladiator....how often do you change it up? Do you leave the top or doors off all the time? Do you switch back and forth? I know it's completely different for everyone and how many cars they have... if they have a garage...where you live... and what they use the gladiator for? Hardtop, soft tops, tube doors, sun riders....let's hear how you do it with all our different situations!

Being I am from Florida too this is a good post.

I have a JL Wrangler as well and I do top off, top and doors off, top on and doors off, or during rainy season top on all the time. I don't have a soft top so my combinations are referring to the hard top. I have a Racor garage storage lift that I use to quickly and easily take my hard top off.

I'm still contemplating what I'll do with my Gladiator. I haven't tried adapting my Racor to the JT hard top. I am considering buying a soft top. This thread should help me decide.

To me there is nothing better than riding around naked in the Jeep. Weather permitting will leave the top and doors in the garage as long as possible. If weather shows rain for part of the week might just take the doors off (much easier to put the doors back on in a hurry). Have also been times when the doors stay on the top comes off but prefer doors off/top on in that scenario.

Part of my question had to do with me being in Florida and also daily driving my glad...the frequent rain makes me think twice about taking stuff off...I also worry about locking her up at the gym or wherever I go that day...but I love the feeling and look so I thought I'd hear the consensus

I'm in PA - so we are getting out of naked weather - I am wondering about leaving topless Glad at train station during the day. I am in a safe suburb - nothing to get stolen from the inside.

I loved it this summer, and I miss it like crazy right now. It's supposed to be 16 degrees here tonight, YUCK, and we're not even in winter. I want the doors off & top down weather back!

At what temperature with doors off and top off do you guys draw the line? How cold does it have to get to be uncomfortable? Does the cold weather package help?

During summer, doors off as much as possible. Top off when it makes sense. I need a top shade though.

We are sissy's but it starts to be a little uncomfortable if the temps are below 70 for having the doors off. Here in Michigan we went 2 months fully naked on the JL, JT was too late in the season when we got her considering we spent almost a month in French Polynesia right after we took delivery. In Florida, I'd be getting the Bestop soft doors and a convertible top...here we got the tube doors and the Bestop sunrider for the JT in the summer months.

I’d think in Florida that mid November to mid March you’d have the doors off all the time. Don’t leave anything in any car that you can’t or won’t replace

We got soft top because the JK hardtop hung in the garage for 2yrs after getting the BesTop. Love the soft top because, here in Michigan, there seems to be 30% of rain a few times per week in the summer. No covered parking at work, so going to work naked is risky. One time, the JK got all the foot wells and truck filled with water, on a day of 10% chance of rain. Pull all the plugs to drain it, then pray it got dried out entirely. So, anyways, soft top open after work in 70+. Doors off in the morning if over 60. Weekends in the summer are usually naked

We're in Raleigh, NC and have a rain issue quite a bit too, BUT we try to leave the JT naked as much as possible. Luckily, it doesn't have to go out when the rains come as we have enough vehicles to handle that scenario, BUT the best is actually now when the temps drop a little and I can heat the seats/wheel & have the heat blasting and still keep everything off the JT. Took a joyride this past Saturday night and it was glorious as the temps where in the 50s. We're also lucky to have enough garage space to cover all the vehicles.

Basically how it works for me with my JKUR in Wisconsin, but fortunately I have covered parking at my work so I can be a little more risky when it comes to having the top off. I currently have the Trektop NX and it's a PITA to take on/off completely. Probably upgrading to the NX Glide next year as it folds down into the back similar to the current JL tops.

I try to go topless and doorless as much as possible. In GA you never know when it is going to rain so you have to assume some risk. Generally speaking if it's above 60 degrees the doors are always off. I get cold rather quickly when the Jeep is naked but then again in 100 degree weather having a naked Jeep isn't exactly fun either.

Top and doors off as often as possible but up here in VA we are exiting the season. 30s at night makes for a cold start to the day.
