Not really worried about normal MPG but does anyone have any input as to how many MPG’s they lost, if any when they added a bed topper. I’m looking at the RSI and an A.R.E fiberglass. They’re about 40 pounds difference.

I've had a RSI SmartCap on a mostly stock Overland for several years. I get around 21mpg on highway trips. That's with the 250 pounds from the cap and rack, and a full bed and back seat.

I have a soft topper and I have 37s with 5:13 gears and I get 14.5-18 depending on driving and temperature outside. I don’t think it makes hardly any difference. Maybe on the highway it would. I don’t do any highway driving.

I installed an RLD stainless cap at about 50K miles. Have noticed no difference at all.
