That is a given. And Im told this is not covered by warrenty!
Ye. I meant the driver shsftCheck out something like this, it would be worth a try to replace the cv boot. I am assuming you meant the driveshaft cv. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00C2M795I/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_plhdr=t&aaxitk=95278c247785923653a93d7acfe0ecee&hsa_cr_id=2740424230501&qid=1761054906&sr=1-3-9e67e56a-6f64-441f-a281-df67fc737124&ref_=sbx_s_sparkle_sbtcd_asin_2_title&pd_rd_w=1iCsm&content-id=amzn1.sym.9f2b2b9e-47e9-4764-a4dc-2be2f6fca36d:amzn1.sym.9f2b2b9e-47e9-4764-a4dc-2be2f6fca36d&pf_rd_p=9f2b2b9e-47e9-4764-a4dc-2be2f6fca36d&pf_rd_r=EMRFYE3B29HEK9J627V9&pd_rd_wg=4j4ai&pd_rd_r=c4e775ff-fc8a-4811-b346-51a035fd501a
Hello .thank you for the part page. Are you saying that the boot cover alone can be replaced? I did find the tear in the boot shortly after it happened. So I belive little or no damage at all has happened to the joint it self...![]()
If the OP is talking about the CV front axle shaft boot, here is a replacement. FYI: several models came with CVs from the factory that weren’t full-time AWD (SelecTrac or RockTrac).
Are you saying the boot cover can be changed alone? The dealer was to replace the shafft and all.Check out something like this, it would be worth a try to replace the cv boot. I haven’t personally replaced the boot, but it is my understanding from a prior post (that I saved the photo from) that is the case with that boot. Repair away! YMMVYe. I meant the driver shsft

I really can’t tell if this means “driveshaft” (i.e. the CV joint on the rear driveshaft) or “front half-shaft CV on the driver side of the truck”Ye. I meant the driver shsft
Because the dealer isn’t thinking straight. Mopar probably doesn’t provide a boot separately, so they’re blindly quoting you an axle shaft replacement. Are you saying the boot cover can be changed alone? The dealer was to replace the shafft and all.
This would have saved me a ton of money in the past, if I knew it existed.OK, finally got the info that it is the driveshaft, not a front axle. Lets narrow it down a bit more, is it the boot on the CV that is at the rear differential pinion? This boot should be replaceable, the dealer would want to replace the whold driveshaft, which of corse is on backorder. A google search should put you on track to find a replacement boot. Or you could get this if you can't find the boot as a separate part: https://www.quadratec.com/p/crown-automotive/cv-joint-repair-kit-wrangler-jl-68272524frk
