Can anyone make a recommendation for a solid, American made torque wrench that doesn’t break the bank? I’m going to put a lift on my JT and I’ve only got a cheaply HF that i don’t trust...

American made?
Maybe Stanley/Craftsman.

Why don’t you trust the HF wrench?

Honestly it’s made in China and I don’t believe their factory is going to provide an honest tool with honest calibration. It is their cheapest one that cost me $25 a few years ago... I watched a few videos on YouTube that showed it’s calibration was off wildly.

I was looking at one made by PrecisionTools, but I couldn’t find any honest reviews besides ‘Buy it now!’.

I might be off but I could swear that my craftsman torque is made overseas. I bought it last year from Lowe’s.

Any idea as to where it’s made?

A tool that is not made overseas ? Do they exist ?

Honestly I have the Tekton ones and they do ok ... They look an awful lot like the HF ones though ...

If you want good tools nowadays that dont break the bank, many tools from Taiwan are actually very good and a far cry better than China ...

So I’ve been reading. However I’ve also read that ‘made in Taiwan’ is quickly becoming ‘labeled in Taiwan’ and made in China.

i looked at it, the price is great, but it’s made in Taiwan...
Taiwan is a solid step above your average Chinese manufacturing in general. I was more making the point that the company is worth supporting as a us owned and based company with a solid warranty and they are moving more and more of their products to US made.

I can see that. I was hoping to skip the overseas part entirely and support 100% US manufacturing.

For all of the back and forth on this, you'll have to decide what's most important. I'd use Snap-on and be done with it...

A snap-on us at the top of me list but it looks like it’s made by PT and made in the US.

Easy enough to check calibration.
Go rent one and compare the two.
