I have close to 1100 payload, maybe 1065 or something like that

I didn't realize the sport was that much higher! Oh well, willys has been more than sufficient for my needs

Thanks - this is great. So, it shows 240amp, trailer sway dampening, 7-4 pin, and trailer zoom. Does not show trailer tow pkg specifically, but aren't these the components of that package?
Sure sounds like the tow pkg to me. I don't know for certain if there's anything else.
Just note a trailer brake controller is NOT part of the tow package or willys. You should get one if you plan on towing a lot

The class IV receiver hitch is not a line item option, it only comes as part of a factory tow package. If the truck in question came equipped with that hitch from the factory (shows on the window sticker and/or build sheet), then it does in fact have the tow package.

Didn't read it all, easy answer - you can tow 6,000 lbs.

You MAY not have the bigger fan - okay, so watch your temps.

The ONLY THINGS that the "standard tow package" gets you is the class IV hitch (you have), the 240 amp alternator (you have), and the 850 W fan (unclear).

The motor, brakes, gearing, suspension, frame, and literally everything else on the truck remains the same as in the 4,000# version.

It's possibly the dumbest "controversy" of these trucks.

Yup, can’t change your payload, but towing capacity isn’t covered on the sticker for whatever odd reason with these.

I know it is strange. Good thing is you can make towing your limits much more comfortable with easy mods and even slighly enhance it. Just finding that fine line isnt easy

I don't have anything else to add other than what people are saying that the Jeep you're looking at most likely has the tow package.

But just for clarification, that sheet you're looking at is the original one that came from when the truck was new right? There isn't a 2 MY old 2024 that's worth almost $60k. That truck is probably $32k - $37k (from a dealership, even less buying it from an individual.)

Unless you have the Max Tow package, that’s not available with the Willys , the limiting factor for all Gladiators is the low payload rating, that’s on a sticker for each different vehicle right in the drivers door jamb. Your Gladiator may have a 6,000 lbs rating due to certain equipment, but the payload will still only be probably under 1,200lbs. So if you’re towing a 6,000lbs trailer at the max, be prepared to use up 600-900 of the payload rating, that’s barely leaves enough for a driver and passenger. Plus there’s a CGVWR, that means everything together under your control in the trailer and vehicle including gas. That’s only 9,360lbs for a Willys! That has a 4,000lbs tow limit. With 1,025 payload. Nice package for light hauling and off road fun.

Something left off on the towing is the stock tires size and load range also. The "Max-Tow" package tires were 245 and the 4:10 axle gears. With different springs that are larger diameter coils...
I reinstalled them with spacers after installing a lift kit, standard lift kit springs in rear were to light for mine.

It does suck that the Willys is lacking on the lower gearing not sure how much difference it would really make with an automatic transmission. Test drove the Willys and liked it the only thing was the Mojave had the gearing, suspension and the extras that go with that package and i had no plan to lift it or buy tires for a while and ended up the same price i probably could have got the Willys down to. I stumbled on this who knows how accurate everything is i was just searching for a list of each models GCWR to compare at the time it seems a bit off here and there but good in general.

Open the drivers door and look at the sticker on the door frame . Mine is 7000# towing , 1200#payload. They varied by year , by model etc.. even the top speed varied from 94or 97mph-112mph.
Who honestly pulls the max all the time No one . Your not using it for a hotshot truck . Pull and load up under the rating and under you tongue weight and you should be fine.

The dumbest "controversy" is that anyone is ever weighing your non-commercial rig or that even if you pulled into the dot scales they'd know the difference between a max tow, willys, or Rubicon. At most they'd look up the maximum tow rating and assume any JT with the proper hitch can tow 7,700lbs.

If they looked it up, it would likely come up 4,000 as that's what most web sites state.
Jeep really screwed up in this area - even the specs section on the capabilities part of Jeep.com is screwed up.
