Thanks for the pictures on the silver. I was on the fence between it and Gator. Since I don't want to wait and I have been happy with my silver avalanche I put silver in my order configuration that I am dropping of at my local dealer today. The silver looks better than I expected.

I think it comes out and stores in an optional bag. Much like the mid-gate (rear) window on the avalanche. This is part of the "open air" experience.
Do you have a source on that? Many have said this would be a nice feature, but pretty sure it was just forum guys talking out there a$$. I think the glass is fixed in place.

The softtop rear window panel is removable, and there is an optional storage bag for it. That may be where the confusion is coming from. The hardtop is, well, a hard top. You can remove the whole thing, or if you have the one with the two front removable panels, you can remove those...

Ralph is correct. For the rag top version the rear window is made of plastic and Jeep will have a bag to put that window into. I am guessing it rolls up. Rear window in the hard top version is made of glass and can not be taken out of the frame of the truck. For the hard top version you can take out the 2 front freedom panels and you can also remove the rest of the roof in just one section. Will need to leave that section at home.

Yes I have to agree the silver looks slick in the flesh, I wouldn't mind getting that if I wasn't already so taken with the Gobi.

I know, but the picture that the comment was referencing was a hardtop. Many have said the hardtop rear is removable and I don't think that is true.

I don't think it rolls since it no longer uses zippers and they are replaced by ridge plastic strips. If it did roll why not leave it hanging in place rolled up across the top like my YJ? You could even fold top all the way down with the rear window still attached and rolled up.

Not certain homerun about how it rolls up and gets stowed into the bag, just know there is a bag for that window. See attached.

The fact that it needs a bag is why I don't think it rolls. But I don't know for sure.

That makes 2 of us. I really ain’t got no clue, especially since I’ve never seen one. But I decided to go with a hard top version after all, provided it’s priced reasonably.

I want both, but I really want the soft top to fold all the way down.

I go back and forth on soft top or hard top, our JL has the hard top and removing the freedom panels is very easy and fun in the summer. We havent taken the entire roof off yet but it seems to be a pain without 2 people or a hoist. I think im going soft top with the JT for ease of on and off in the summer. IMO the hardtop looks better with boxier lines, the soft top makes it look more military tho which isnt a bad thing either. I wonder if the hardtop would fit in the bed safely, say you werent lugging anything else around. Not ideal but say you are from Jersey like myself and want to take a beach trip, store it in some kind of locking aftermarket holder in the bed. Would be a lot easier with the JT since you have the bed to stand in to remove it and the top is "smaller" then the JLs.

I can’t remember where but someone did spot a photo on the gladiator and the rear window was rolled up like the JK was. If I can find the pic I’ll post it.
