I'm going to haul my new wheels over to Discount Tire in the next week or two and have them mount up tires.

I haven't made a final decision yet, but I am leaning towards leaving the TPMS sensors in my OEM wheels and keeping that set for the winter.

Are "aftermarket" TPMS sensors good to go? I see sets of 4 on Amazon for maybe $50-ish.

Anyone use the aftermarket sensors with any success? Or buy OEM?

Also might just have them yank the sensors from my current wheels and install them in the new. Discount Tire said they would do $60 each for new sensors installed in the new wheels.

What's the preferred option...?

I bought these schrader sensors from Rock auto.
I needed them for an extra set of wheels for my Mojave. Worked like a champ. Discount Tire didn't charge me extra for install, thank goodness. I mean I had bought the tires off them and showed up with my wheels and sensors in my hand.
It was a great deal from Rock auto, (I thought at $21 & some change) I didn't want no one messing around with my Gladiator tire monitor system, so I looked for sensors all ready to go.

More Information for SCHRADER 29093 (rockauto.com)

No programming needed, I swapped out my wheels a couple weeks later and the Gladiator didn't miss a beat. They are one year and 2 months old, no issues.
Hope that helps.

I believe in mid 2021 (August I think) they changed TPMS sensors. If your Jeep is an older year, it requires one set, if it's newer than 2021 it requires a different set. I'm sure someone will chime in and let you know specifically. When I did my aftermarket wheels, I knew I would be getting rid of the stocks soon after, so I had the shop just swap sensors to the new wheels. When I bought one for my spare, Goodyear charged 75 bucks for the new sensor installed. I was already there with the wheels and tires blown apart, I just paid the 75 bucks.

You linked this thread, did you mean to link to the sensors you bought?

For the comments about a running change…. Mine is a 2023…

I ordered a set of Schrader 29093 from Amazon. After reading about all the hit and misses with aftermarket ones, I decided to go with the ones that work. A little more but probably worth it. I totally forgot about Rock Auto.

Have two sets of five wheels and tires and the fifth wheel and second set has the Schrader valves for my year. There was a model change in 2021 so make sure you get the right ones. They work perfect. Swap back and fourth all the time. no programming needed.

thanks.

I’ve got 2 different part numbers in this thread.

Guidance on the proper sensors for a ā€˜23 would be appreciated, I hate buying things that don’t work.
