Afternoon all,

A few weeks ago I changed the oil and fuel filter on my 21' JTRD. While under the truck I noticed an ATF weap at the back of the trans/ front of the TC. Took it in for warranty repair and tech says output/input seals on the trans/ TC were damaged due to a catawampus trans mount. Anyone had similar probs?

I don't see how the trans mount effects that. It should be 6 bolts holding the TC and transmission together......very solid.

Did they repair said issue? I'd want pictures of the work done.

Kinda my thoughts exactly. They ordered parts but haven't performed the work yet. Im considering taking it too another dealer.

I mean fuck it, let them do it and see what happens. Would be super annoying if their diagnostic skills are hammered dogshit though.

In the almost 30 years wrenching either in shops, flipping cars or as a hobby I have never experienced a leak at that point.......even in trucks with 200-300+k on the clocks.

Do you happen to have pictures of the truck in its current state?

yeah here are some pics I just snapped. Like I said, its a weep, not pissing on the driveway, but shouldn't be happening on a bone stock truck with 18k miles on it. I read that the rear output shaft seal on this trans is not replaceable and the whole fuckin cog swapper needs to be R&R'ed. Not what I needed to hear the week I quit drinkin...

I had that same leak on my 21 JTRD when I was at about 8k in mileage. I didn’t ever get any explanation as to why.
I also had a timing cover leak at 13.5k mileage. Also, never any explanation as to why.

Well I'm sure there is some unlucky person that's been struck by lightning at the poopshoot during or since the beginning of man kind.

Of course. It was under warranty. My JTDR has had several “hiccups” while under warranty. The HPFP failure is now considered more than a “hiccup” though. I’ve never owned a vehicle that has spent this many visits to a service center for warrantable repairs. It’s quite frustrating. But I love this truck.

Sorry, my reading comprehension must be in the dumpster today.
The transmission to transfer case was “resealed”. I would have to find the repair paperwork to see if a seal was replaced or if it was just a silicone reseal.

Ive gotta agree. HPFP is a concern, although mine hasn't crossed the event horizon and been broken down at an atomic level as some have experienced. This is my only real mention worthy problem thus far and I am loving the shit outta this truck. Its not my 2012 6.7 Cummins by any stretch but its awesome for what it is. Timeline to warranty expiration and "weight loss" has begun. I digress...

Situation update: Dealer has essentially been ignoring my calls (Advantage CDJR Mt Dora FL) So imma take it somewhere else. Any recommendations for the Central FL area?
