JMHO……. Just make it easy on yourself. For normal driving, go and have the local valvoline quick oil change place do your transmission fluid flush and filter change…
Hope you’re kidding! I personally would not trust a local quick oil change to do anything on my vehicles.

Not at all.
The service is insured and gives a warrantee. Just like the dealership. They do the exact thing the dealership does, but you don’t have to schedule out two weeks and it’s not going to cost you 500-600 bucks. I’m not talking about a local mom and pop. Unless you really trust them. But the Valvoline centers are a national business chain. They’ve done multiple vehicle of mine with no issues. Had a 2008 VW Jetta that went 215k miles that I bought brand new, and eventually went to my son then my niece. Did the service every 50k and never had any issues.

Just had the wife’s 2019 Chevy Colorado done at 50k miles. Been driving it 95 miles a day for a week now with no issues.

My 2022 gladiator is approaching 40k. I’m going to have the transmission fluid flushed and filter changed by someone. I can’t do a flush myself. Need specialized equipment. I’ll do the differentials, transfer, and engine.

Just saying……………..

I get it. That’s cool. Glad you’ve had good luck. My bias stems from a bad experience my son had, and numerous issues forum members have had such as wrong oil weight, wrong oil quantity (6 qts instead of 5 qts), torque issues (over tightened filter which causes cracks or over tightening drain plug), and wrong oil brand, just to name a few. In my opinion, because the tranny dump/refill is so precise, I just don’t feel comfortable. But I also stay away from stealerships. YMMV

I bought this 2020 used, it currently has 118,568 miles and I'm pretty sure the fluid has never been changed. it has been seeping fluid out back hence the gasket change. I will get some photos tomorrow if it is not still raining.
Oh, yeah, good decision to change it for sure - especially with unknown history. (and miles)

Whoa - Just say NO TO TRANSMISSION FLUSHES!
Yikes. I'd never let one of those do a flush (or even touch my Jeeps to begin with)
They were flipping burgers last week.
How do I know? I had a niece who worked in one of those places and yeah, her claim to fame was basketball and food - not far off from the others there as well.

Yeah, stay away from the "Iffy Lube" places. 🙄
And never do a flush. Bad mojo.
Warranties and such mean shit.

I'm going through hell now with my wife's JLU because safelite fucked up the windshield frame with one of their metal tools.
So I have to take it around, get estimates and then we go without the Jeep for who knows how long and end up with hopefully a good color match.
Guarantees are only to make people feel good and come into the business.

I'll never ever allow any mobile service do our windshields again after this fiasco, even if I have to pay more to have it done right.
Supposedly OEM glass but it doesn't say MOPAR on it, so I don't know for sure.

You can do the transmission yourself in your own driveway. You do not want or need a flush. Do a drain, filter and refill.
REAL transmission experts and those with real experience avoid flushes. They are money makers and little else. It makes it really simple, sells a more expensive service but actually risks more than it resolves.

Do it yourself - drain, refill. Especially at that crazy low mileage, there's no reason at all for a flush. You can go a lot longer than that on just a change with modern fluids. And don't let them sell you on anything other than the correct fluid!

got my PPE trans pan today so hopefully I'll have everything buttoned up tomorrow.
And then I'll be able to do a fluid change anytime. I have a couple of crappy videos that I'll try to upload tomorrow. Thanks everyone for the help and advise.

Do their service centers let you pick your Valvoline fluids? Or are you limited to their basic MaxLife/Multi-Vehicle stuff?

For NORMAL driving, not crawling, not heavy towing, I'd go well over 50K - even to 60 or so. These are superior transmissions, little to no real slippage of clutches and so on and we're dealing with fluids far superior to what we had in the 1980s when people went well over 50k between changes.

I will not use any fluid other than what ZF recommends (or MOPAR for that matter) - nothing else.

I'll use best fluids in other areas, but these transmissions are beyond amazing engineering and won't fudge just to save a few bucks on fluid or to run something with a fun or fancy name or something that people brag about using.

Well, got the New (PPE)trans pan in and everything buttoned up... And then came the rain, but that's cool because all that's left is adding fluid..
Well besides having to install a trac bar/sector shaft brace, RC HD Trac bar, adjustable upper and lower control arms, and Cavfab 2.5 ton tie rod ends, and.... changing transfer case fluid. No worries!

I just hit 30k miles today.........so time to do a fluid and filter swap. I do them every 30k. Using that interval I've never had an automatic transmission fail me and I run my shit like I stole it; from stock shit to fully built, cammed, stalled and geared shit.

Safelite kept putting me off.( on another vehicle in the past and pissed me off) So when I had mine replaced last year insurance tried to get me to use them I told em to go get screwed that I was picking the installer. I chose a installer in next town over and He had it done in just a few hours then there is set time . I dropped it off like 8am picked up 11 or 12 . Zero leaks etc..

Most do a contract deal with Safelite and get heavy discounts. It's like health insurance scamming - the doctor's fee is 1200, insurance says nope, you get 250 and it's settled.
Insurance companies and service contracts cut their costs by doing the same - we'll use you EXCLUSIVELY if you agree to these rates.
