No. Those numbers refer to torque handling. The 50 is not the same as the 75.I heard they’re basically the same the 8HP75 imported from Germany while the 850RE is assembled by FCA
8 defines the number of forward gears or speeds.
H is hydraulic converter
P is planetary gear sets.
So any of this design is 8HP as far as ZF is concerned.
The 70, 75, 50 and so on are the torque handling ability in NM (Newton/Meters) so a 70 can handle 700 NM, a 50 can handle 500 NM and so on.
