Hi all,

I checked my transmission harness near the EGR plumbing and I did not like how close it was to the flange.

I also found that the zip tie stud mount for the harness came loose allowing it to rub against the heat shield near by. I am happy that I checked this as it only has 500 miles.

Pushed the zip tie wire stud mount all the way in but I still find it nerve wrecking how close non-heat shielded sleeve so close to these hot surfaces.

Has anyone added any insulation proactively? Or relocated the harness?

Watching... good question. I've checked mine a couple times, seems fine, not like photos I've seen of 2020s/2021s. But I'd hate for one of the retainers to give up and for it to move closer to the hot stuff.

Baling wire to back up the zips?

Heat insulation wrap and possibly more zip ties.

Specifically, I am planning to put the harness inside a split fuel hose then wrap it with heat sleeve.

These harness sit way too close to these hot pipe. I am actually surprised these don't cause problems as often.

What did you end up doing with this since it seems to be the hot topic right now? It appears easy access through the right front wheel well liner but did you end up applying any heat shielding around the wire bundle? Seems like removing the exhaust is the tough way to go versus just removing the liner…am I wrong?

Haven't gotten around doing much on the truck. Let alone driving it. Just broke a thousand miles and had her since Nov last year.

Got all the materials for the work. Just gotta find time and rain's gotta stop for the weekend.

Will update this thread once I am done.
