Any disclaimers from their site?

edit: sorry this happened to you, just trying to find root cause.
Not that I've seen but I'll see what they respond. I can rattle can some bed liner no problem but I'm just dumfounded on how it happened.

I would be looking more in to those solvents and what they do and their chemical composition.

damn! it looks like whatever is in that can melted the plastic.

I gotta toss a vote in for cerakote. I've used cerakote on 3 different vehicles, never had a single issue beyond the PITA it is to apply.

https://www.amazon.com/CERAKOTE-Cer...Y&qid=1710298417&s=merchant-items&sr=1-2&th=1

ive also seen it at walmart for 16$.

hands down best ceramic coaring vinyl rubber or plastic trim restorer i have seen. Had one coat on my 2017KL and still looked brand new when i traded it. auto car wash 2-3x a week never dulled out. seriously, follow the instructions, tape off your paint, wear the gloves and take your time applying it. it will not wash off.

Try a heat gun on low. People use them on plastics to bring the black up all the time.

If no one steps up and offers you replacement parts, you might try a product like Forever Black to get those housings back towards black and somewhat evened out. I've had good luck using it on some fairly bleached out hard tops and other black trim pieces. It's basically a dye, but it is pretty easy to work with and gives decent results.

The ceramic trim restorer did not work on my whitened fender flare. All it did was make it glossy.

Understood. Sounds like there’s a different composition on the RR side. Ideally your can would work on just about anything, but those tail lights seem like the thing that doesn’t align.

as a heads up, if you chose to do so, you have to be even more careful under the hood. Personally I don’t spray anything under the hood unless I’m trying to sell the vehicle; I’m sure there are members here however, that know the right things to use.

As sad as this is, the whole reason I gave it a wash today is because it is for sale haha. The engine bay looks fantastic though, nothing needed there at all thankfully.

I use some form of trim restorer after every wash, which isn't often but makes a huge difference on my rig that sits in the sun all day. I've used a handful of different options from creams, sprays, wipes, whathaveyou. Today, I used this:

It worked great on all my plastics just like the others I've tried, all my fenders, mirrors, hood deflector, door handles, all look brand spanking new again. But my tailights:

Holy cow! Completely destroyed the finish on these. They were fine before the wash and applying this, I just applied it because like I said, I always do after a wash. They look 1000% worse now. What can I do? If all else fails I know I can pull them and paint some spray on bedliner but damn this caught me off guard.

I already tried applying a tire shine / tire black on top of it to no change. Didn't make it better or worse. I'll let this sit to the morning and grab a new photo to see what changes if anything.
I would send pictures to manufacture of the chemical but they cover their a$$ with a warning on the label.

you can try some heat carefully, take the assembly off the truck first.

I’m sure you’ve tried multiple products by now. I use VRP by chemical guys like others have mentioned but just bought the Tire and trim gel by them to bring my faded exterior trim back to life. I think it’s more oil based than the VRP. Curious to find out how you resolve this conundrum

Stuff like this scares me. It's why I just don't wash my Jeep.

Some products have toluene in them. It will melt some plastics. I use Back to Black on everything, from the black grill on my Crown Vic, to the trim on my JT.
