You bet! My customers ditch the throttle controllers though. No need for artificial 5v reference signal changers. We can do all that the proper way through tuning on the pedal tables in the tune directly.

We can dial in fueling for the extra air from the intake and the like as well. All part of the datalog process

This tune has become the best thing I have done to the truck. I was really wanting a 5.7 Hemi but couldn’t justify the swap cost yet.

My truck is on Fusion Dana 60’s with 5.38’s, KMC beadlocks, and 40” trail grapplers and the power/torque seems to come in now like the old 4.0l straight six! Just still have to tune in the 7th and 8th gear shifting on the highway. The stutter/mis is also completely eliminated, just nice and smooth power delivery all the way to redline.

My truck is also a late 21 and received the GPEC5 PCM. With shipping the unlock took 1.5 weeks to get back shipping from eastern NC. When I received it back from HP Tuners the throttle table was funky. Brad sent in the request to have it fixed and now is like the others he has tuned. Brad is also unusually quick at responding to emails and texts during this whole process it has been amazing to get this kind of support!

@bmpcamry09 -- I'm curious-- what sort of MPG you were getting before and after on your test mule on regular and on premium fuel? I'm out of warranty and like @zuki_dan want a 5.7L but cant justify spending more on the swap than the truck cost me.

BTW, it is pretty amazing what tuners can accomplish nowadays on NA motors. Back in the day a Conforti Shark Injector might have gotten a couple extra ponies and marginally better throttle response. Now? Night and day.

I had a W204 Mercedes and it had the same exact NA V6 in the E350 of the era but was detuned by 50-60HP to not cannibalize sales and get the CAFE number down. $1000 to a tuner in LA and i unlocked all of that and then some. It made an otherwise boring as hell medium performance sport sedan downright fun.

My test mule only had 700 miles on it when I started tuning it, but I was seeing 16-17 mixed driving before tuning with 87. 17-18 mixed with premium. Add 1-2 to both the figures tuned. 21-22 tuned on the highway. But I’m also a bone stock Sport S soooooo doesn’t mean much. Lol

Interesting. I figured with the remap and more power MPG would have gone down. Definitely considering.

With the better transmission mapping, the engine doesn’t get bogged under low RPM high load and the engine runs more efficiently.

Very interested in this. Are there any E85 options available? 2025 JT.

Capability is there within the tuning but I haven’t been able to do any testing with it yet. Hoping to get E tuning worked out this summer.

This, and the fact that when you have usable power where you actually drive, you'll spend less time on the throttle getting up to speed so you can let off sooner thus using less fuel.

This is common practice in the tuner world (imports) where we remap tables to extract available power that was restricted by the OEM, you get better mpg (when not too busy having fun), more power, and better "drivability" aka power where you normally drive (rpm wise). They call it VE (Volumetric Efficiency) for a reason.

I live in a far away country, New Zealand. Can all of this, including the unlock, be done remotely? Our regulations don't preclude deletion of EGR etc., can your tunes be adapted to reflect this deletion? I have a really good tuner here who can apply all these upgrades and a 2023 Gladiator Rubicon with 2025 3.6 engine and 8 speed. How that new engine came about is a long story.

Yes everything is remote and emissions compliant so EGR stays in place in the tuning. EGR doesn’t really cause any issues on this but in non emissions testing countries I can change it around if need be. I finished one up for a guy in Australia a few weeks ago. Actually pretty good HP Tuners support close to your way too with VCM Performance. I imagine you’d be ordering unlock from the them in Australia unless NZ has something.

When my tuner looked at the issue some time ago for my 21 Overland JT the Aussies wanted the ECU sent over so they could unlock it and said if the service agent ever does a reflash it would all have to be done again. That is a PITA and won't happen. I like your system where warranty won't be affected. So how can we unlock? Thanks

That isn’t true. Unlocks are permanent. You will need to send it to them for unlock, but then your good to go.

Your custom tune can get written over by your service department on accident. If your service ever does a reflash, you simply let me know, do another read with your MPVI device, and I apply your tune change to the new OS that was flashed on. It’s very easy. Doesn’t cost you anything. Typically service doesn’t flash your computer unless you have an issue.

Once the computer is unlocked it is unlocked for life. And purchasing my tunes, you get unlimited revisions.

Ross (Tuner) may contact you, what's involved in getting the gear to unlock the ECU out of interest?
