I just got off the phone with AT&T asking why my wifi quit working about five days ago. Apparently there was a Uconnect update that has affected a LOT of vehicles a bit over a week ago. Mine was one of them. So if your WiFi suddenly stopped being able to get signal about that time, there’s one answer.

Unfortunately no. AT&T says it’s a radio issue. And referred me back to the dealer.
So I got partial resolution. A tech who read about my issue on FB told me to “reset” my radio by holding the off button for 10 seconds and resetting it.
I have had to do that several times but at least the wifi connects after doing this and turning the radio back on.

Do you know if this is different than the system wipe found in the Settings menu?

I'm having wifi problems and did this wipe, which removed all settings, profiles, etc. It reset my wifi name to the default uconnect_blahblahblah, and even after assigning a new name it wasn't detected by my phone.

I verified within the system that my phone number is still the same.

Also, in researching this issue it appears to be a problem at any given time since it's inception. I'm not holding my breath on it fixing itself with another update.

My Wife had to run an update on her Pilot for issues similar to this. Not sure if it's the same issue.

My issue corrected itself. Either through remorse after my choice of words, or through an update.

The dealer had to do a system update during the last service I just had. No longer having connection issues. The Uconnect is actually working like it should now too.

And a year later, new info and update. No Wifi access unless I purchase some little adapter from AT&T to plug in. Decided it wasn’t worth it so I no longer have wifi. My best guess is that AT&T didn’t want to work with Uconnect to come to an agreement because someone didn’t like the terms being offered so they decided to create their own version.

It's not UCONNECT, it's the Panasonic hardware. There's a TSB about it. AT&T made some changes - Jeep didn't.

My guess - AT&T apparently decided it wasn't worth their effort to remain compatible - suspect it's possibly due to 5G

"UCONNECT" is the software and doesn't really impact the WiFi but hardware sure does. The issue has impacted thousands of Jeeps. Officially "compatibility between the hardware and AT&T.
Well, it used to work - so guess where the change came in.
The TSB says "AT&T is suspending........." Hmmmmm
The dangers of trying to work with a company that has better things to do than support a few thousand Jeep owners.

I appreciate the info. I’m not a tech so I don’t delve into some details too far. I just choose where to spend my time and money, and AT&T isn’t worth either with the changes they made.

Makes me think that 10+ years in the future, if you have a current modern vehicle like ours with the infotainment systems that are so hardware and software dependent to stay relative, they are going to be just big unsupported bricks.

Kind of like Apple and Samsung with their phones and tablets, just going to wakeup one day and get a message that no more updates will be applied

Already had that issue with my chromebook last spring. "Warning, after June this device will receive no further updates" or words to that effect.
A perfectly functioning device, no issues at all, works perfect, but they won't update it any more.
Too bad, it still works for my shop needs so I'm not replacing it until it actually ceases to function.
It really isn't all that old! But that's Google.
