I'd be interested in the shipping options as well. Keep us posted.
Shipping Post. I had a few people message me as well. Didn't want to hijack this thread.

Also, I was asked if 2020 Gladiators can still be ordered. Yes.
2020 Wrangler orders ended Wednesday according to Kent. 2020 Gladiator orders are still a go.

As of this morning - No more Gator. All my quotes had Gator as the option and as I turned in my final quote this morning I was told.....no more! No word on when 2021's start or 2020 stop. Asking again.

I think a lot of us have been assuming dealers would offer similar discounts as the JLs, and using the Wrangler deals site (https://sites.google.com/view/wranglerdeals/home) to guess at those discounts.

Over the last several months, I've been e-mailing with Kent at Peterson in Nampa, ID (Boise area). Just to make sure, I did confirm that he will be offering the same discounts on the JT as they do the JL. So similar to what Travis @ Tri-City will offer (5% below invoice from dealer, another 1% affiliate/tread lightly, another 1% dealer financing), but perhaps closer for those of us on the west coast. He has tons of positive reviews on the JL forum, so who I'll probably end up buying from when pricing is announced and order banks are live. He still thinks pricing will be announced this month (but has also said Feb 1, then Mar 5...).

Contact info (also on Wrangler deals web site).

I did try and contact the other Boise area dealer a few months ago, but never heard back from them.
I got my Wrangler through Kent at Peterson, custom ordered. I am now going back to him to order a Gladiator Rubicon. I checked with him on one he had on his lot and it had more on it, but was stuff I did not want compared to one at Larson Jeep. His price was $1000 less than Larson. Will see what he comes up with for the custom order. When I got my Wrangler he saved me so much over local dealers I actually added some additional options. Still came in over $1000 below local, and with a $65 plane ticket, was worth the trip from Seattle.

I got my final quote today. Reviewing tonight with the wife - hoping to pull the trigger on it tomorrow.

My order was placed today. 2 minor annoyances - Proximity locks are being required (not optional) by the manufacturer and they are out of A/T tires - so everything is M/T at this time. Oh, and no Gator....so 2 minor, 1 .

This post by @kayakmike was very helpful. I'll be dealing with CA taxes etc as well. I have decided to fly up and drive back over a weekend instead of shipping.

I did have additional questions regarding their financing, minimum balance, 6 month/payment plan, etc. A 5% down payment is the maximum. I'd prefer to pay the CA taxes myself and not have them be part of the financing because good ol CA is going to tac on an extra 10%+ to the price. I'll let you all know how that works out.

There is no % min balance required after the first payment other than the required next 5 payments.

If you take out a $50,000 loan through them and the monthly payments are $1,000, you can pay $45,000 on the first payment and leave 5k to be paid off over the next 5 payments.

Kent also said it's a gentlemen's agreement. Nothing binding you to 6 payments total other than your word and their request. I'm going to honor the gentlemen's agreement (as you should), so they can continue to offer these types of discounts.

I've done the math - and the interest they will get back from me, even if I leave the full balance over 6 months minus payments, is less (far less) than the discount I am getting. Hope this helps the math nerds.

I'd be interested in how you're going to deal with the CA tax. Also, I thought it was 8.75%, at least in Westminster (OC).

Several question.
Is it too late to order ? I have heard because of covid there is no reliable. Build date. True false?
Petersen wants me to buy off the lot not finding exactly what I want there. I did find it at Tuttle click in Irvine but they won’t deal. Same for York in Prescott. Any suggestion for a west coas dealer that will deal? What about the Vegas dealer what is his name

I didn't have good luck at Peterson. Next town over though is Dennis Dillon in Caldwell ID & there was no dealing as the price was 7k less then Peterson for a nearly identical Max Tow.

My order is Rubicon, cold weather, leather seats, tow package, aux switches, bedliner, 8.4 premium audio, black hard top, led lights, proximity locks, tow package, off road camera - $49,408, which is actually $200 less than 7% off dealer cost.

You are paying the same sales tax regardless of whether you pay it yourself/higher down or it's rolled into the loan. Any difference from what Peterson collects will be adjusted when you register your vehicle (Peterson or DMV overcharged slightly and I got a ~$100 DMV refund a few weeks after I registered). You may be overthinking the taxes. Assuming tax is $4k, and the loan rate is a (high) 7%, if you plan to drop a large 1st payment, worse case you are looking at ~$23 interest on the sales tax for a month.

Peterson collects sales tax on the purchase price. CA sales tax rates vary by city/county (7.75% in San Diego County). Registration fees are dealt with when you register at the DMV. General rule of thumb is you are ballpark 10% with taxes and registration...

Here's more info on dealing with CA taxes & registration...

I am glad everyone BUT ME got a good deal at Peterson... I am local to them & started my search there. They wouldn't do crap for me when I bought in April. Ended up one town over & 7000 dollars less for a Sport S Max Tow. Slightly different features, but the window sticker price between the 2 was within a few hundred dollars.

Did you do try and do a custom order through Kent, or try and buy one off the lot? Two completely different pricing structures. I've also heard that they aren't necessarily competitive with ones on the lot. This thread is about custom orders, and you'll see there are a few dealers across the nation that offer similar deeper discount on custom orders....

Going through Kent I could have gotten a vehicle off the lot with similar discounts. But it had stuff I did not want (steel bumper) or care about (color matched top and fenders), and did not have what I wanted. So went custom order. Yah, got to wait a couple months but will be worth it. :)
