You do know that the 1 tonne actually have a slight higher by 200lbs weight capacity. What I've seen on their website. You can now get the same lug pattern as the Gladiator. Woo hoo. Less spares to carry! This what I was sent. Great for retrofits!
This looks great! mine has something similar i guess i should look and see what they are exactly. You do good work!!So finally the Timbren Axle Less suspension is in. Bit of work but overall pretty good. The hardest part was cutting off and grinding down the old hangers. Axles look great and wait to get everything buttoned up and take her out next week!
Good to know. I was curious as to how much they have. I had real close fenders on my last trailer and they did rub some on big bounces. I'll plan accordingly, knowing they move alot. Thanks! I can't wait to put mine onFirst test drive completed. Drives like a dream! What a difference. Biggest difference was less feedback to the Jeep over big dips and bumps. Zero noise as well, my old springs creaked and knocked liked crazy. Im impressed, well worth the $$$$ and labour to put it in. On a side note, my fenders are too close as the suspension has almost 2” of up travel. So I'm stepping down in tire size to a 30” AT. These 32” are too tall and almost too wide anyways.
Awesome build! Looks really cool. I'm about to start my build, but have really struggled to find a trailer axle that can accept 17" wheels. Most "regular" (leaf spring type axles) accept wheels up to 15". I want wheels/tires that match the 17" 35"s on my Glad. This what I was sent. Great for retrofits!
Thank you. Kayle. But WHICH Timbren system did you buy? Is there a product number? Which bearings and hubs should I buy? Sorry for being so clueless, but I really am clueless as to which of the 34 Timbren systems will work best for Jeep Gladiator wheels/tires and will any bearings work with that Timbren system and pretty much any 5x5 hubs? I just don't know.Timbrens website should show pricing for starters. You will need the suspension and I recommend new bearings/hubs also.
As for the axle that will fit Gladiator wheels, I’m using 5x4.5 to 5x5 wheel spacers to allow to run my Jeep rims. Free2Roam commented that the 1 ton Timbren axles now offer 5x5 hub but I haven’t confirmed that myself.
I found the timbren spec sheet to mostly very useful but I was also a mechanic and rebuilt fuel trailers for 7 years, so my comfort level was high.
And lastly it was some smallish heavy duty leaf axle with 2000lb hubs. I switched to 2000lb HD with 3500lb hubs. Ride height did nit change but my I have considerably more up travel, thats my only issue thus far.
All good.Thank you. Kayle. But WHICH Timbren system did you buy? Is there a product number? Which bearings and hubs should I buy? Yes correct. I was at 31.5” tires (now 30”) with standard spindles. I knew the long spindles in my particular application would be to wide. The 1 ton kit is actually sweet as it should give a better ride and better up travel through the stroke. Long arm win!So I ordered mine with the HD spindles, as they recommended any tire over a 31" (I think that was the cut-off) going with the HD spindles. These mated to the 2,200 (tonne) kit, should work out perfectly for my build and be stronger than I'll ever need. And man, these things are beefy!
