USB charge only?

Does anyone know if any of the USB ports are charge only? I want to just charge my phone and not have it connect to the radio for Android Auto. I have tried the USB A on the dash and in the console plus the USB c in the dash and it always connects to AA.

Alternatively, is ther an way to tun off the audio turn by turn instructions?

Is it possible to shut down the AA app on the phone? I go into settings and kill apps now and then that annoy me. (my phone is pretty bare bones to say the least. I refuse to install much on it)

Not that I have been able to figure out. The AA setup on m Kia Stinger GT2 allows me to tun it off on the car's head unit and does not do the turn by turn if I don't activate a nav app (Waze...) on the head unit.

There are four usb ports on the back side of the center console. The two on the driver side connect to the system, the two on the passenger side are charge only.

Thanks. So one of the rear seat USB sets is charge only!!!! Better than none. Now I'll have to figure out a good route for the cable since plugging one in when driving would be difficult. Can't say I even knew about USBs back there sine I have never been in any seat other than the driver's.

I typically read the manual from cover to cover, but since my Gladiator didn't come with one...

3 main reasons I don't like AA in the Gladiator are:
1) no way to turn off or at least lower the volume of the audio directions through the sound system;
2) I usually listen to FM or XM and like to see the audio info on the screen but also want the Waze navigation... can't do both with AA but without AA active on the phone can have audio info on the radio and nav on the phone screen; Spitting the screen would be great -- can do that on my Stinger.
3) the Bluetooth connection gives me all the phone integration I need/want. Have not found a need/use the for extras AA provides.

That makes perfect sense. The way it takes over the entire screen is mildly frustrating at times. It also seems to want to not let me easily place a call compared to when the phone is over bluetooth. I can't just tap the call button to bring up my phone options I have to go back and use the touchscreen for it. I do really like the idea of not having a mount though in this car, especially when I will be doorless and windshieldless most of the summer.

Switching to the radio and other settings really is a PIA since you do lose your nave. Split screen would be amazing since on the 8.4 there is plenty of room to show radio and/or climate controls while android auto is up and running.

I don't particularly like Android Auto, but after getting accustomed to the way it operates, it's really not all that bad. It is designed to bring the primary functions to the center screen so you are not handling the phone while driving (which is an expensive ticket in many states).

I have the 8.4" Uconnect and AA is just another app at the bottom of the screen. I can start navigation, and then switch to the XM or Climate screens. The nav keeps talking when necessary. If I need to use the phone, I just press the green call button on the wheel and it comes up on the screen. The only thing lacking is the upcoming turn display on the small screen that you get with the built in NAV system.
