Where are the best locations to use a High Jack on Gladiators with steel bumpers, and has anyone tried lifting the Jeep with the pulling hooks?

Always use from the side never straight in line those things will kill you by knocking your darn jaw off your face.

IMHO opinion they are emergency only . I would opt for an ARB on board air compressor and a bottle air jack.

I have a hi-jack, and never used it yet. Will also be purchasing one of these products from Safe Jack. https://safejacks.com/

Thanks for the warning, I remember when I was a kid all the car jacks were similar to the high jack.

My high lift jack gets used more for straightening out my skid plates on my JK than used to change a tire. Yes, I have used it to change tires but only when I cant get under it to use a scissors or bottle jack. The JTR is not getting one.

When they slip, it's almost always to the side. Straight in line, but with your arms extended outin front of you is the safest way. The handle can kick up violently, but your head and body should be back far enough it won't matter. The jack is every bit as safe as a winch or any other tool, it's the user that can be dangerous.
