Honestly, I have no clue.
I've been searching with no luck then your post came up. I'm not electrically inclined lol.

I really don't want an external screen for my camper

Yes, you can easily do this. Just get the camera and a length of cable. You’ll want to use RG58 coax instead of the RG174 coax that the factory uses because the image becomes unstable with long lengths of RG174. Fakra Z male to female RG58 is what you’d want:

Damn jimmy you just saved me too! Ive been looking everywhere for an extension to relocate my camera with a bed replacement&canopy. Thanks!

eBay usually has sellers that offer “choose your length” on rg58 fakra z coax.
jimmy, perhaps its a dumb question, but can you run rg58 from the factory connector that has rg174? as long as you have the correct fakra connectors?

I’d like to know this as well. I know. Old thread.

I also want to take this further. I want a switch so I can choose between the trailer camera and the tailgate camera. Anyone know of the RG cables can be switched? The goal would be two cameras as input, with an “a or b” switch, and one output going towards the head unit. I’d ideally put the switch inside the tailgate near the Oem camera connection.

I finally got around to installing this and I'm very happy with how it came out.

Thanks to @Jimmy07 for links tothe right cables and @Free2roam for the short cable! This would now have fit without the 90 degree connector on that piece

I removed the factory installed furrion mount from the camper, and fished the 25ft coax thru the wall to the bottom. Then ran it under the camper above the enclosed underbelly panels. When I hitch up, I have a 6ft coax to go from the truck to the end of the 25ft coax

I removed the oem camera from the included bezel, drilled a hole thru the furrion mount cover plate, and glued the camera in. I don't think anything will move as it's pretty tight inside that mount. Very happy with how it turned out.

Thanks @Jimmy07 for providing the insights on the RG174 to RG58 cable for extended lengths and the link to the exact wire! Much appreciated!
