Driving on the freeway for a long trip for the first time in our Gladiator, my wife had to get used to all the normal alarms for side, front and rear obstacles. She eventually did. however she said there is another alarm. Very high pitched. She said it sounds like when you pinch the nozzle of an inflated balloon to make it squeal. She said it did not seem to be random but something intentionally going off but she could not figure out why or what set it off. It went off at 66 MPH and also at 83, so It is not likely related to speed. It is a different sound than the front, rear or side sensors. No lights came on that she could find and the gauges all reported normal operation. Anyone familiar with such a sound?

Sure it's an electronic alarm sound vs a mechanical/physical sound?

Some people have the air intake loose from the factory. Under the hood, the big air pipe which goes into the top of the engine. Might make a noise kind of like that.

Or an air leak at the windshield?

There’s another thread and it might be your answer but it happens when I first get in or start it it’s like a computer sound like a quick warning ya ? I honestly forget but it’s something stupid like temp drop outside or something similar to that

I don't think he was. It's a very long description.

Maybe she wasn't telling the whole truth and she was actually wheeling somewhere and got a bit too far off camber, and it was her own screams of terror as she valiantly corrected the situation and recovered. She just said she was cruising down the highway so you wouldn't suspect anything 🤔 🤔 🤔 😂😂😂😂😂

Yea that’s a random air leak, probably from the windshield frame, that’s caused by an errant wind blowing from a sudden different direction for however long the squealing lasts. Try driving with a window or two open to see it it happens again. Good luck!

All my alarms are turned off except the backup one. Glad I paid for all that other crap that just annoyed me.

Well some of us have a tendency to just tune out all surrounding sounds when the wife starts yapping away about the drama-of-the-day. Perhaps OP was just in that zone.

☺ I was being funny….. kinda like, it was **in her head**

Or….perhaps the OP was yammering away about his drama-of-the-day and she suddenly developed an acute migraine of sorts. 😆
