That's not the steering stabilizer. Re-torque all tie rod ends and ball joints and dynamically balance the tires.

And take it somewhere else to get it fixed. They obviously don't know wth they are doing.
I’ll add check the control arms, track bar, and drag link ends.

I had this happen to me but @60mph. I'm all stock too. I had already contacted the dealer on the steering TSB fix and complained of loose steering before so I was on a wait list for my new steering box. As soon as this happened I called the dealer and they moved me up to install within a few days of that. The other thing they did was replace my steering damper (the mono shock tube thingy) as they said they thought that was it. They also made sure everything else under there was tightened down well too. It may have also helped that I have a dash cam in my truck and I played the video back for them to show them exactly how it looked when it happened. I hit a tiny joining section in the road over a bridge when mine happened.

Anyone with even a bit of mechanical understanding would be able to see that the stabilizer can reduce the shaking by resisting the forces trying to shake the wheels back and forth. But it can not be the CAUSE of the problem or the solution to the problem.

This is what I put up with everyday on the way to work. I've tried 3 dealers[one of which lied about replacing the stabilizer] and 1 independent shop. No one can find an issue.

I can't see your video, but that's ok.

Has a dry steering test been done yet?

Have the tires been rotated to see if anything changes? Someone suggested this back in post #4, but I didn't see if you tried this or not.

I have had to tighten tie rod ends at the knuckles 3 times in 20K miles because they loosen up in the aluminum knuckles. The next time will be the last time. The knuckles will be replaced with cast iron knuckles.

Tires rotated and nothing? Can anyone else see the video? I would love for you guys to see it. It’s nasty.

I can see the video. It’s pretty simple. I’d your suspension is stock (and thus you know the geometry is correct) then the only possibility is that something is loose.

Makes sense. But no one can figure out what's wrong with it or they're just brushing me off.

I’m not home so I don’t have the doc on me, but there’s a file floating around here or JL forums that lists the torque specs for everything on the front end. I’d just grab a torque wrench and go at it. As unfortunate as it is to say, sometimes if you want something done right you have to do it yourself.

Dry steering test will tell you if anything is loose.

Turn steering wheel back and forth rapidly from 10-2. Do it with tires on the ground and motor not running. Someone else watches underneath. Track bar ends, control arm ends, anything steering should be observed for slop.

Thought I'd post a follow up.

Took three weeks to get a service appt.
When I described the issue, the service writer immediately went to steering stabilizer. I mentioned that the torque markings all look to be off but was brushed off. Took home a loaner. Got a call saying the steering stabilizer is on order and to be replaced today/tomorrow. When I called to inquire, I was told that the service tech stated "this vehicle should not be driven".

In any event, attached is a video of my steering wheel after hitting a bump at highway speed.

I'll follow up again when I get the truck back.

Mark

Well, I picked the truck up, got to the highway, hit a bump and identical behavior as shown above. I called the dealer quite upset as they assured me the checked all hardware for proper torque AND replaced the stabilizer. They did rotate the tires .

Service writer says 5 jeeps, 3 gladiators and two wranglers, came in with same issue over the past several days (theorizing it had something to do with the cold). My issue developed in Sept when it was still quite warm.

No TSB on the issue. Dealer really has no idea what the issue is. Jeep has a serious problem here.

Truck is back at the dealer. This truck has under 5k miles and is completely stock. We are at visti 2 of 4 before lemon law kicks in.

Will update again when I have more info.

ok, gotta say it, 90MPH and you're worried about a wobble? Hell, you're lucky the entire thing didn't fall apart. Jeeps are governed at 96MPH so you're pushing it's limit every day.
This is total nonsense. Governed at 96, he was only at 90. I've been up to 90 with 2.5" lift and 37's. What's the problem amigo? Drives just fine at 90. He has an issue. Wheels out of balance, sloppy suspension? Who knows, but it should be able to get there.
