Cool, this is awesome. Do you think this applies when I have my AC on for a few minutes, then turn it off and it smells almost mildewy? My filters should be just fine so I don't know where the smell would come from. It's not even just on rainy/super humid days.

The moisture on the evaporator and the drain most likely. I've noted that on other vehicles, run the AC, then turn it off or just do vent, and you get the humidity for a while.

I always shut off the A/C as I approach the parking area and let the system dry itself out with the fresh air 'vent' setting, fan on high. Fresh water condensed inside the ducts and plenum create mold and mildew not mention the stink. Dad the Car Salesman taught me this in 1972 and we all know how mom's nose can detect a cockroach at a thousand yards.

Whoa. Wife and I experienced this on our road trip to the Outer Banks. 3 times. I thought it was because I didn't have recirculation on and it was humid. Haha

Kinda annoyed…Took my Jeep in due to the known AC issues. Apparently Chrysler voided my warranty because I swapped to 4:88 gears and now I have to pay for them to fix the known AC issue.

I checked on it before I did my lift & gears. Jeep can’t void your warranty, there’s a law on the books against that very thing. While it’s true that if an aftermarket modification fails that it won’t be covered since Jeep didn’t install it and it’s a non-Mopar part, I was told that they are not allowed to just cancel your warranty outright.

The "law on the books" allows for the owner to swap "like/similar" parts into the vehicle that don't affect anything downstream from that part. Way oversized lifts/tires are not like/similar, as much as everyone likes to claim, and putting in different gears that may affect various sensor readings that the vehicle uses to monitor and maintain vehicle performance can also be an issue if the vehicle isn't calibrated to understand how to cope with it. If the different gears are throwing off the vehicle performance (and possibly the odometer readings), they may very well say that the gear change has caused issues, and that they are no longer responsible for those issues and void PARTS of the warranty, but I'd hope they wouldn't void the FULL vehicle warranty. Admittingly, I didn't read the whole thread so I'm not sure if the vehicle was flashed with the gear change update via Tazer or some other programmer.

It's a tough situation for the OP no doubt, I hope for the best for you. Hopefully @JeepCares is able to help get you sorted.

I have a 2021 Gladiator that was built in 21 and I have been having this issue quite a bit (TSB says built on or before September 30th 2020). I even took it to a local Jeep dealership but they said they could not "replicate the issue"... I guess I'm going to have to search some and see if I can find a TSB that covers my vehicle.

Side Note... the dealer I took it to couldn't replicate the issue because they didn't even try. I caught them completely lying. They didn't even look at my vehicle for 2 days and then claimed their service manager, and two technicians, all drove the vehicle for several miles each. However, when I picked up my vehicle the mileage was the same as when I brought it in and the uconnect app showed the vehicle parked in exact same spot for 3 days... The look on the service manager's face when I went to go pick up the vehicle was classic... I told him about the mileage and the uconnect app... He was like kid caught lying! Just a stuttering stamering idiot... I won't be going back there!

Yes, but the whole experience from start to finish at the dealership was absolutely ridiculous. They were having a hard time putting my vehicle in as a 2021. They kept blaming "software issues" and the fact that they were conveniently, or inconveniently, swapping to new software was their excuse. It actually took two guys 30 minutes to get me checked in and they had to "trick the system" into seeing my VIN as a 2021. When I finally went to go pick up my vehicle they blamed the same software issue for the fact that they could not give me any paperwork saying what they did or the mileage etc... This was on top of the fact that they could not replicate my issue and didn't even move my vehicle for 3 days... At that point I asked to speak to the general manager. I went over all that transpired and he didn't seem very phased by it, almost like it was business as usual and none of it surprised him... This was by far the worst dealership I have ever encountered!

Mine has started doing the hot blast when we're on trips, especially when it's very hot outside. It's relatively frequent, too. Also, it's not cooling the cabin properly in auto mode. I can set it on 65 and it's still hot enough to make us sweat, that is until we take it off auto and crank it up. It's as if it thinks it's getting cool and turns the fan down to very low. Auto mode is basically useless when it's more than 80 degrees outside. I stumbled onto this thread while trying to figure it all out.

So - can anybody tell me where to get a PDF of that TSB? It doesn't print well from the post here, and I can't find it anywhere else. I want to call my dealer to explain the problem and the TSB, and having it printed clearly would be helpful.
This is interesting, I just picked up my new JT and spent a week driving it around East TN and SW VA with no notice in the AC issue being described. But on the long trip back to FL after 6 or more hours on the road and hotter weather I would notice a very brief break in the AC (maybe 5 seconds). It did this about 3 times I would guess. But my Jeep does not fit into the date range for the TSB. Hmmm makes one wonder if it is supposed to do something like this but on the older ones it lasts too long? No response needed, just throwing information out. BTW it was not something that was so bad it was a problem, but noticeable. And I've never noticed on other cars I have had, but newest other vehicle is 2018.

Just like the steering TSB - they are not required to duplicate the issue. They are instructed to FIX IT if you simply complain. There's no "replicate" to it. They need to READ that TSB - if the customer complains, do this.
Does it state anywhere to drive it or diagnose it or try to duplicate it or try to find the cause? No. If customer complains, DO THIS.
Geesh, these people have reading comprehension issues.

You take truck in, you say my HVAC does this, they flash it.

Mine was picked up 11/2019. It never did the HVAC thing until our drive to and then from CO - and it was hot. Otherwise I never noticed it until then. And when it did it, it was brief, not 30 seconds, still, my habit is to keep things up to date, current, as far as any flash or software.
Mine fits the dates, I believe. It's due for my final wave oil change when I get back from my trip next week. I'll ask them about it next week.

While I get that this is the way these TSBs read, wouldn’t any technician (or any other troubleshooting like minded person) want to replicate the issue so they can verify it’s fixed versus just throwing parts at something?

At some point, throwing parts at it will become a customer satisfaction thing but I’d hate to just do the parts without replicating the issue and just assume it’s fixed. Who am I to know if it didn’t fix it and now the customer is just unhappy with me and my service department and are taking their business elsewhere?
