The new rumor is that because I flashed it (or didn’t flash it) my odometer is off which is why they won’t cover any warranty repairs. Also, according to Sharon @JeepCares they can “restrict” my entire warranty over a light bar.
Wait, they sell factory installed aux switches to add a light bar (amongst other things) and then they void your warranty if you add a light bar?

Yep, makes it easy for them to tell you to pound sand. Some fall for it some don't

Did you flash it? If so I'm going to have a really hard decision on getting a tune.

It doesn't surprise me that flashing it would void the warranty due to all the environmental crap.

If you didn't flash it I would go back to my first response on this thread.

Re the comment about restricting entire warranty over a light bar---that will never hold and is complete bullshit. So much for having knowledgeable people @JeepCares
Flash is a bad word - you don't flash, and it's not going to impact the PCM.
People keep calling "settings choices" or changes "flash" - it's not.

Understood. If I show up with a PCM that has a tune/map established by someone like Livernois do you think that will invalidate the warranty?

I would bet it would be trouble........... at least for any engine issues or damage.

From what I gather (and I have been going rounds with them for days now) they can do whatever they want regardless of the laws in place. You could do like most people do and not tell them of any changes. If they see the changes they can void your warranty. It’s basically up to the dealer. They are skirting between the law where if your warranty is voided, but the dealership says “hey this definitely isn’t related to the (modified part)” THEN they will still cover said issue under warranty. The law states they have to prove it is because of the modification, but they hide that by trying to say it is a contract you signed (and not a warranty for the warranty laws to apply). So in the end they screw the small guys

Kinda annoyed…Took my Jeep in due to the known AC issues. Apparently Chrysler voided my warranty because I swapped to 4:88 gears and now I have to pay for them to fix the known AC issue.

Tell them to look up the magnuson-moss warranty act, it’s a court ruling that states they can not drop your entire warranty over a modification, they would have to show you exactly how your 488 gears caused your AC to have issues ,

Too much misunderstanding of that act. It's not a court ruling, it's a federal law from the 70s.
I bet no one has actually read it and repeats only what they've read on the internet in forums or on fakebook.

Warrantors cannot require that only branded parts be used with the product in order to retain the warranty. This is commonly referred to as the "tie-in sales" provisions and is frequently mentioned in the context of third-party computer parts, such as memory and hard drives.
