I agree, my Scout pre-order is pure EV, don't care about the gas engine, don't want it.

But all the people who tow the USS Nimitz up the Ike gauntlet every single day of their lives on their hourly trips to the moon and back NEED that capability.

So that's where the market is.
Well, we will see where the market is when it comes out.

Good plan on Stellantis' part though trying to get volumes up on this power train to help reduce costs. This is a good vehicle to put this in IMO. The demographic buying this can afford it.

Scout is high on my list but it's so far out on the horizon I'm not getting my hopes up. Big headwinds ahead for them too.

Makes the most sense because the Wagoneer already rolls down the same line as the Ram, tons of commonality before the body goes on.

The petrosexuals won't be able to ignore the 647 hp, and 620 lb/ft that no ICE powertrain will come close to.
I bet they will. Their dick swinging contests are only about torque anyway. And when Shane and Wyatt down the way have 1000+ in their diesel 3/4 tons, some guy pushing 620 in an electric grocery getter ain't it.
Not to mention 99% of these are sold to stuck up, upper middle class suburbanites who just point down to the end of the row and say, is that the best one? give me that one.
I guess that's good because could you imagine the average Jeep salesperson trying to explain it to the average American consumer? 😂 But it's not like these things are flying off the lots.

The petrosexuals still manage to ignore the absurd performance of the BEVs already on the market? Quickest production truck ever made? EV. $50k Kia EVs dusting $500k Ferrari v12s in a drag race. The model S plaid is so fast you'd need a cage and a parachute if you put it in an nhra dragstrip in stock form on street tires. Not to mention things like the trx and track hawk existed and this overly heavy/ dual drivetrain with less horsepower will impress them? The dinosaurs don't care unless it runs exclusively on their long fallen relatives.

No one in a C3 Corvette believes or would state out loud a Altima could beat them

I gotta say I'm surprised to see a Grand Wagoneer update announcement before a Grand Cherokee announcement. Figured being their bigger volume seller they'd be focussed on getting any updates/news done first on that model.

The pertinent GC information was hidden in the announcement as Durango updates lol

Being delusional doesn't change the facts. I agree they'd never admit it out load, but the '74/75 c3 was SLOW when new. 6.6-7.7s 0-60 depending on engine option. Not only would they get destroyed by an altima, you'd probably beat them in the gladiator. So much for that American v8 muscle? Sports/ muscle cars from the mid 70s to the late 90s were slow compared to modern minivans.

Interesting to see the business case of EV/HYBRID platforms go from fuel economy to now performance.

No one in a C3 is under any illusion about their speed, it still holds the record for crappiest power to displacement ratio of any V8 since the 1930s.
The Malaise Era was starting and cars from 1975 and on were choked with early catalytic converters, automakers hadn't figured out how to make the systems efficient so you could still make power.
The 1975 350 V8 made 10 fewer ponies than our 20 year old LJ with a 4.0 two-valve I6.

Adorable you think a bunch of facts matter to the folks sitting on their couch watching Gas Monkey Garage who say silly things like all 350's make 300 hp and all had Malibus that spun 8000 rpms and hopped coke cans lol.

most hypercars are now Hybrid.

It's still the most complicated way to propel a vehicle, but it makes people happy.

You can't argue with the performance figures. If it's ICE only it is slow by comparison. The only way to get an ICE vehicle to stock model S plaid performance at a drag strip is pretty much making it unstreetable. To me I could care less where the power or fuel comes from. And for a crawling the instant torque at 0 rpms would be even more impressive than the things are at the track. If Jeep built a JL based EV like the magneto concepts it would destroy the ICE versions on and off road.
