Just ordered a warn vr10 from north ridge 4x4 for $499 and warn currently has a $100 visa gift card rebate offer. They also have the s models with synthetic rope for 649 if you prefer, i went steel for the price. thought someone would find this helpful. link https://www.northridge4x4.com/part/jeep-truck-suv-winches/103252-warn-vr-evo10-winch-w-steel-cable

I recently bought the S model. It came with 2 rebates. One is a $100 rebate on the purchase price. The other is a $100 rebate to be used to make the winch wireless controlled. I have applied for my rebates. The lady on the phone said the rebates can only be used to purchase Warn products at their online store.

Dangit i guess i misunderstood the deal. O well. Hopefully i get the rebate quickly to buy a warn winch plate. I appreciate you correcting me. Definitely not trying to spread false information. The rebate offer said paid by visa us cash funds so i assumed it was a typical visa gift card.

I applied for the $100 purchase price rebate. I didn't know there was one to make it wireless. Do you have a link for that?

Nice! I opened the box and glanced at all the paperwork after it was delivered. I saw this and thought it was for the other rebate. Thanks for posting this. I probably would have installed the winch and just forgot about it. I'm going to apply for it as soon as I'm done typing this. $600 for a Warn winch with synthetic rope was already a fantastic deal. The rebate on the purchase price made it must have. This is just icing on the cake.

The power cutoff is not included. I put a Badlands APEX Harbor Freight) on my other Jeep. the Badlands came with a switch identical to the one I used with the Warn (from Amazon.com). The reason I bought the Warn this time was because the footprint is smaller.

Other things:

I made the short cable that goes from the switch to the battery. I happened to have the stuff needed for that on hand from an RV project.

I cut the top of the winch control housing to allow the cable to come out of the side instead of the back. I didn't want the cables rubbing on my grill. The top is now held on with 3 screws instead of 4.

I would encourage you to check every nut. bolt, and screw for tightness. I found some of them were loose.

What Andy29847 did is similar to what I'm going to do. I haven't got it yet, but I ordered this Revo winch isolation kit. Its a little more expensive than the HF switch, but it comes with everything you need including wiring and connectors.

Just bought an EVO 10s. Can't wait to get it here and installed. I think I'm going to try the method that Mav4x4Chris used to carve up my plastic bumper to add a winch plate inside it. Looks like a fun project and, if I screw it up, I can always buy a winch bumper. I think I will buy a separate Warn winch solenoid and power it with an AUX switch from inside the cab to get power to the winch. Should be loads of fun! I know it's a Chinese Warn but, with that warranty how can you go wrong?
