Rustys winch plate works great with OEM steel bumper. Wires are a tight fight against grille. Only used winch once so far to pull out stuck Subaru

I have the factory plastic Rubicon bumper and factory steel skid plate. I wanted to keep weight down and use what I already had. I installed the Warn EVO 12S, Maximus-3 winch plate, Go Rhino 332000T Rockline Textured Black Fairlead Mount Plate (to take up some space between the winch and the plastic bumper), Tuffy license plate holder, Maximus-3 Tow/D-ring brackets. I bought the winch/mount plate kit from RubiTrux. Great price, no sales tax, and free shipping. I had to cut up the plastic and steel factory bumper, but the mounting plate fit perfect. I got the idea from a gentleman, Toby W, on the JLForums website who made his own winch plate and kept his plastic bumper. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/winch-mount-for-plastic-bumper.7605/

Does anyone have a parts list that can accomplish the winch with plastic bumper?!?! I'm in love with this idea but am certainly not the guy to fabricate a plate. If there's anything that you can purchase to accomplish this please let me know

Did you have any problems with the inner frame support? Each time I tightened the upper bolt down the inner frame support would block the bumper bolt hole. Attached photo shows what I am talking about. For some reason the photo is rotated but the hole that is blocked is the passenger side lower hole inner spot.

Like others, Warn 10s with Warn winch plate. No fit issues whatsoever.

I did not, everything fit pretty snug, are you using the grimm offroad winch plate? Can you take the another photo not that close? The bottom bolts on the winch plate I had to use a mallet to get them aligned properly though. But I didn't have the issue you are having. Have you thought of maybe putting a bolt in there so it doesn't move?

I am using the Grimm Offroad Winch Pate, I have already uninstalled the winch plate, so more pictures isn't an option right now. I did try putting a bolt in there but it still shifted and locked the bolt in place, so I had to loosen then side bolt to get the hole to open up to release the bolt.
The bolts that install the winch plate I had NO issues with getting started or aligned, it was only when I went to torque to specs that the lower passenger inner frame support would kick out at the bottom and block the hole as pictured.

I have reached out for support, hoping to hear something later today. Thanks for your reply.

Those factory support pieces can be a PITA sometimes.

Leave the side bolt loose until you have the bumper on and then tighten the side bolt.

Thank you for sharing this. I had no intention of getting a winch. Never EVER needed a winch. Had my Jeep for 6 months, and my mom calls me yesterday because she got stuck due to heavy rain. Now I'm shopping for a winch.

How much droop are you guys seeing after winch install?
I have diesel and steel bumper. I ordered EVO 10S and Warn plate. I want to add spacer to compensate for it. I assume around .75" but would love to know for sure so I don't have to install/measure/order/wait.

I did measure mine because I wanted to keep weight down. I lost a quarter of an inch on my plastic bumper winch install.

Installed mine on a Fishbone mid-with. only problem is the front holes have little clearance underneath dur to the skid plate. Started the back two one thread had a friend tilt the winch so I could start the front two.

Done with it
I am installing a EVO 12S on a Rock Hard alu full width bumper. Not the lower winch style bumper so it sits up on top. Using the supplied Rock hard winch plate. Really a pain with the bumper skid plate going way back but I got it. Called Rock Hard and they say there is no issues with it, ever. It will probably block some air but not enough to cause an issue. With lights and all it's about $3K up there in front. Only added weight is the winch as the bumper is 37 pounds. .
