Dropped it off at dealer this morning because of the tick, loss of power, rough idle (Engine light which went out on its own) Apparently the whole right side cam is shot. At least they are throwing in a plug change for parts only and it'll get some fresh lube. 2 day completion hopefully because they did have all the parts in stock (There's a first for everything)

Wow, I'm glad they were able to get it fixed quickly! That's crazy.

Mine is a 2022 with 40,300 miles on it. Guess I'm overdue then 😬

Seriously though - that sucks. Glad its getting fixed up quickly.

Yep, that's the Pentastar tick repair. Welcome to the club.

Oh, it's been completed. If I ever find that one clip from that one stupid electrical connection, I might put it back on, but I'm pretty sure that flight time was longer than the Challenger's.

This thread has me paranoid. I swear when I started my Gladiator tonight the normal engine tick was just a bit louder. 😦

I still get this sound like a shovel being dragged across concrete on acceleration from 5-7 mph when I’m running slow from 1-10mph. If you let off the gas while creeping along then give it more gas it does it again. I don’t know if its the tranny or what. 2 or 4 wheel no matter.

Sounds like some freak solenoid engagement

I’m seriously considering trading it in for the Lainey Wilson Watermelon Moonshine edition F250 4x4

I'm coming up
on the five year warranty in June.
With less than 30,000 miles on it
and only mild ticking
I wonder if I can get the work done
under warranty.

73,000 miles on my 2020JTR LE and no issues yet, knock on wood. I did add the Baxter oil filter upgrade a long time ago though. Once added the start ups were noticeably quieter. Part of me hopes something fails as I love the idea of the AMW 5.7 :)

Mild ticking is normal. You'll have to pay for them to pull it apart and check if they find everything is just fine and the tick is more a result of reading forum posts than it is a real issue.

Retired. Beach bum.
It really bothers me that Jeep charges so high a price, that when a known issue like pre-mature wear and tare happens in enough numbers to make it a worthy issue, why thy done require proper treatment for the metal the parts are made out of? Like wouldn’t shot peening the cams rectify the problem? These engines and all modern engines are tech marvels, making power numbers equal to twice the displacement of a couple generations ago, with a fraction of the emissions!
