Best?……….

Can’t say because of I’ve had so many great ones from a couple of hours looking for new trails locally with the wife and the dog, to multi day camping trips, to long loops through several western states avoiding places that everyone can reach.

Can’t nail “best” down.

Probably the first big road trip I took with it, a loop of Colorado a couple years ago. Took about a week and a half if I recall

Hit Blue Mountain Trail, Mosquito Pass, Birdseye Gulch, Weston Pass, Engineer Pass, Cinnamon Pass, California Pass, Poughkeepsie Gulch, Imogene Pass, Yankee Boy Basin, Ophir Pass, Last Dollar Road. Hit up some of the touristy spots as well like Pike's Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park, Casa Bonita, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, Ouray, etc.

Spent most of the time doing dispersed camping in national forests.

Missed Black Bear Pass. I've driven through there 4 more times since then and every time it's either been closed or impassible due to weather. My white whale.

Did Moab last year but it wasn't quite as cool. Next month planning a 2.5 week trip across the country, down the coast, and back. So that might top them both. We'll see.

Getting ready for an extended trip, first to Pioche, NV, then to Helper UT, then to Rock Springs and the Monument Ridge BOH trail, on to Buffalo WY for Longmire Days, then to Sturgis, then down to Wall Drug in Wall, through Nebraska and to Dodge City KS, then through Salida CO. Montrose and Ouray before spending a month in Silverton CO. Mostly 2 lane backroads and as little of freeway as possible.

The first trip home from Maryland with snow causing Maine to restrict the speed limit on I-95.

Retired. Finally !!
Mine was the first time I could try 4-wheel drive. I bought my 2023 Freedom used, I did do the, "Okay, it goes into 4L. Okay, it goes into 4H.", but truthfully, all that proved was the shifter worked.

One Saturday, right after purchase, my wife and I took a ride to Galveston. Then we hopped the car ferry over to Bolivar Peninsula. Shortly after getting off the ferry, there is a section were you can drive on the beach. But it's hardpack, there are Mustangs and all sorts of street cars driving on it. We kept going. We passed all the parked cars. Sand got softer. Then deeper. No more cars. When I felt the tires digging in, I said, "Let's try 4 high before we get too far in.". We kept going. Now only 4x4's; Wranglers, Toyo's, Ram's. I haven't been this far down since the 80's when I had my Samurai. "Let's try 4 Low." even though I didn't really need it. All good. Back in 4 High, we kept going until we had to turn back on the pavement. I looked at my wife and smiled. "She works !!".

When I was telling my former co-worker about our trip, he asked, "How far down did you go ?" "As far as we could. Awesome, no cars with loud stereos, nothing." "Yeah, I shoulda bought a 4 by 4. I can only get, at best, maybe a 1/4 mile down the beach before it feels like I'm going to get stuck.".

He recently bought a brand new Toyota Tundra, fully loaded. But only 2 wheel drive.

Moab is the best, so far, for me. But it's also the only major trip I have taken with it, so there's more to come! It has a ways to go to catch up with my JL Wrangler's adventures, but it'll get there.

The truck is pure mountain goat. That long wheelbase makes it second to none as a stable hill climber! Not to mention the sheer capacity to carry gear and luggage, keeping the cabin nice and roomy and uncluttered for people.

I couldn't be more happy with this Jeep. Pics coming later.

Just three months with my Gladiator and made it into deep southern Death Valley before the "warm" months begin. It was great to be totally alone the whole time there in a place I have wanted to check out for years.
Just driving and thinking this Jeep will always be more capable than I can even image. I did drive up a mining road that I probably should have hiked up .... it was a road on the map.... (not pictured ;))

In her natural environment.
