I have a little storage thingy that sits between the two backseats. In it I always have: medkit, umbrella, toilet paper, wet wipes, kleenex, a kite, and a hacky sack
Happen to have any pics of the “storage thingy”? Always on the lookout for clever storage options.

And the elephant in the room……. Hacky Sack :whatsgoingon:

I'll admit, I saw that and went, "Hacky sack ?!?! They still exist ??" :) Got a couple "competition" Frisbee's in there also ?

Maybe a pair of click-clacks, also ? Some areas called them "clackers".....

I'm just kidding around.....I'll admit, I still have my Duncan yo-yo.... I tried to do the tricks I knew as a kid....epic fail...

Depends on the trip.

Road trip: Just my vehicular EDC, which is pretty comprehensive.
  • Tool kit (not going to list all the contents)
  • Small air compressor
  • Tire puncture kit
  • Microfiber cloths
  • Gloves
  • Wool blanket
  • Hatchet
  • Jumper pack
  • First Aid Kit
  • Tazer Mini manual
  • Garmin InReach
  • Spare doggy poop bags
Other than that: Full cup of coffee, water bottle, and hopefully my furry Trip Supervisor.

Off Road: all of the above plus:
  • Winch controller
  • Recovery gear
  • Extra water
  • Extra food
  • Downloaded maps
  • Paper maps
  • Compass
  • Spare fuel (diesel and gasoline)
Camping: all of the above plus:
  • General camping gear
  • Bourbon
  • Cigars
  • A comfortable chair to have around the fire

Storage thingy

It's not that specific one, but it's something like that. It just sits between my kids in the back. Also the Hacky Sack appeared inside it one day a couple of years ago, and it's been there ever since haha. Neither kid claims ownership.

And they won't. No screens, no beeps or boops. (this statement applies whether your kids are 10 or 30....).

She insists on going anywhere I go. She usually wins. Occasionally we allow the wife :)

Before I enlisted, I had a German Shepherd puppy. When I discharged, my dog had become my Dad's dog, of course. Smartest and kindest dog on the planet. IF he liked or trusted you. When I left for boot, he was maybe a month or two old. After boot (3 months of boot for Marines, before your MOS schooling), I came home. That dog REMEMBERED me when I walked in and was wagging his tail SO hard he cleared the coffee cups off the coffee table. He always remembered me, even years later.

He remained my Dad's dog even when I rotated back to the real world. My Dad was old school, never believed in spending money on vets for meds or checkups. One day my Dad saw him lying listless in the backyard. Took him to the vet. Heartworms. So bad he had to be put down out of mercy.

That's the 2nd time I saw my Dad cry. First was when his Mom passed when I was 16.

I keep threatening to get another Shepherd. Maybe I will.

Wow, that's a great story.

A dog clearing coffee cups off a table because he was so excited to see you is about as good a reunion as you can get.

Sounds like he was one heck of a dog. Maybe it is time for another Shepherd.

I was gonna be a smartass and say the same thing, but then I realized I send my mother on her trips in my truck on occasion - so it technically goes on a trip without me in rare cases.
