I have a 2020 Sport S auto with only the tow package so that means 3.73 gears. I am running factory tires 245/75-17 at around 42psi and I’m getting between 22-24mpg right know. I need new tires and want to go up in size but I can’t kill my mileage. I know this isn’t a Prius and you don’t buy jeeps for good gas mileage but I drive 84miles a day for work and it would kill me if it drops super low. Help a brother out and post what your getting.

Gear ratio???
Tire size???
Mpg???

Thanks

There are lots of variables.
It also is based upon how much weight the truck is carrying and winter time versus summertime fuel. Also elevation and hills.

weight, diameter, and width of tires matter, also tread pattern. I still get 20-22 at 70-75 mph with 255-80-17 Falken AT3W. They added height but at same width and a modest weight penalty, considering they are E rated. I have 4.10.

For awhile is was right around 23mpg but it seems to be going up due to me settling down on the pedal.

2021 Sport S with Max tow (4.10 gears) and JL rubicon 285/70/17 wheels and tires installed and running 35psi - 18.5mpg in my day to day driving. I can hit 21 ish on long trips with cruise set at 65. Note: the mileage improved a good bit when I hit around 3,500 - 4,000 miles on the clock. It was hovering around 17mpg for my day to day before that.

Stock Mojave Wildpeak M/T 285/70R17. Mostly hwy averaged 17.9 mpg. 13 tanks of fuel
Mostly two trips GA <-> OH

General Grabber X3 35x12.5R17. Mostly hwy averaged 16.1 mpg 5 tanks of fuel

Speed was generally 65-75 mph. Definitely noticed a hit in MPG over 70 mph.
Mostly a trip GA <-> FL

I noticed a negligible difference in MPG from the stock 33" Mud Terrains to my 25" K02s however it is down slightly overall. See lifetime fillup chart below. My average is in my sig line. Note, I live in North Ga, not a flat road in site. Most of my driving is local so a lot of stop lights and not much highway unless I'm taking a trip. Also note, my fuel mileage is hand calculated which is more accurate than what I find on the Jeep's computer. Sometimes it's off by 2 mpg, sometimes it's close.

I want to say yes because mileage is better since gear install. In all fairness I had them swapped pretty early in ownership. Few thousand miles at most.

4:88s for me are the perfect ratio all around for my set up. Gas mileage, get up and go as well as holding gears well.
