I dont get those foot rest any way.. it dont rest the foot it just holds your toes up. And places pressure on your heal bone.
Of those of you that have standards sow of hands as to how many shift and then leave toes on the pedal after reaching cruising speed ? Or does foot go back on the floor ?
Riding with toes on pedal will actually lead to problems .
So what does this " dead pedal" simulate ? Nothing absolutely 💯 % nothing.
You've never worked a desk job, I take it...........
Better on the hip joints, ergonomics. Slightly slanted foot rests were requested by almost 100% of the staff that were at a desk most of the time. Feet flat on the floor led to problems.
I suppose you have no problems with seats in airplanes (assuming you don't spring for first class)?

You don't have much choice with a stick, but with my car, there's plenty of room next to the clutch pedal to have my foot rest, not flat but at a slight angle, and I can drive for hours that way. The Jeep is pretty restrictive in that way.
The Grand Cherokee has a slanted foot rest built into the floor..

Finally got around to sorting out my 37” tire w/ 4.8” wheel backspace vs. 8100 external reservoir and Currie anti rock vs. 8100 external reservoir.

Tire would solidly contact the resi with full steering lock cross stuff and the anti rock and resi occupied the same space. Ended up picking up some nutserts and pushing the bracket to the front most factory holes.

Unfortunately didn’t take a full flex pic following the relocation.

this isn't about what i did to my gladiator today but what i learned and thought perhaps others might enjoy. when a president flies on Air Force 1 he is usually accompanied by a large group of reporters from many media. the trip this past week was spending time in the capitals of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and United Arab Emirates. not every minute of every trip requires news reporting so this creates pockets of free time. one reporter had been hired by a Hollywood company to do research for them regarding young tv viewers. the questions were predominately aimed at the style and genre of programming and a few specific shows. when asked in Riyadh if the kids liked The Flintstones they responded they did not. when asked in Doha it was the same answer however the kids in Abu Dhabi do.

Still nothing.
Spent a couple of hours back in urgent care - the infections have gone into my sinuses and still in lungs and other areas. Excruciating headache, brain fog, shortness of breath, you name it.
DAMN - and there's 2 car shows this weekend, and I need to get the Redarc trailer brake controller installed ASAP, dead pedal and other stuff.
Listen to your wives - I didn't and it's costing me time and health.

Now the more fun part - a Chevy dealership is right across the street from the clinic I went to. They also have Jeep dealerships so now and then have Jeeps sitting out front, as one sales guy said "to keep our sales guy who loves Jeeps happy".
They are having a big car show there on their front lot - one of the shows I mentioned above I'd be at if not feeling like shxx.
I decided on the way home to just cruise through the parking lot and take a quick look to see if some of the guys I knew and hung out with were there.
As I drove up with my JTMX - one of the guys running the show, check-in and so on came trotting over to me and asked if I was registered and was ready to point me to a spot in the show.
Hmmmmm.

OK, I really skewed this baby off-topic! Sorry.

Worked on my reinforcement and refurbish of my engine/tranny skid. The steel reinforcement is from next venture. But I went further and cut out my own one piece UHMW, instead of the two piece design. I think it makes it stronger at the bend this way. Still 8 more holes to drill and that many bolts. Then I’ll do final trimming of the UHMW. And two brackets need paint. But it’s getting close to being able to test fit.

Painted the faded plastic cowl vent. Tried several black plastic restorers, but it eventually went back to the blotchy grey. I figured painting it should last a couple years before springing for a professionally painted piece. Came out pretty decent.

Oh gosh. No skills necessary. If you can operate a rattle can, you can do it. Based on what you're doing to your JT, I'd say you're qualified to use a spray can!
That’s all rattle can? Looks fantastic! Can you provide some tips on the prep required to paint the plastic?

For the cowl vent, I scrubbed it really good with dish soap and a scrub brush. The cowl vent is textured so the surface has tiny pits. Once it dried, I wiped it down with acetone (it didn't melt the plastic). The plastic must be polyethelene or polypropolene. Then, I sprayed a couple light coats of primer (Rustoleum). I sprayed several light coats of base color, followed by several light coats of clear coat. The first couple coats of clear has to be very light. Otherwise, a single heavy coat from the clear will make the base coat run.

For other plastic parts, like the mirror bolt covers, I had to trim the mold flash and lightly sand sharp edges before wiping down with acetone. Again, the acetone didn't melt the plastic. Then, I did the same routine of several base coat followed by several light coats of clear.

I also did the door latch covers.

So you got this soon after you ordered it? Their website says made to order taking 8 weeks to get. Was considering it myself but that wait time sucks. Also, did you relocate the jack or can you easily get to it thru the access panel? Are the drink holders on he back of the console still fully usable as they appear?

Nice job Dan, I agree the one piece will make it stronger and the steel interior skeleton brace, should make it more difficult for you to bend. You must be getting nuts to drive your Jeep , been being refurbed for a while now…..Jack
