Measured the truck yesterday... unless I get some rear squat out of these AEV HD springs when I get my tent installed I won't be fitting into the garage. I have exactly 10 inches of clearance right now, and the tent is listed at 10 inches high. Wasn't planning on getting a rear bumper, but I might have to now so I can clear the garage door lol

How will the rear bumper help with height? Regarding the fit, since it’s so close, can you figure out a custom mount for the tent that saves you an inch?

I bet he means the WEIGHT will sink the JT further down.
All he needs is for a couple of us to stand on the back bumper as he moves it in or out of the garage.

To be honest, there never was a use case when I had my two other Rubicon JT's where I used the front locker or needed it. I do not wheel that hard. To me, it was a nicety and not a necessity. Compensation difference the seller gave me would have bought me a locker if I really wanted it.

Interesting how that 0.6" makes a difference with 3.73 gears. When I had my two Rubicon JT's with standard 4.10's, it was not that much noticeable going from 33's to 35's to even be considered bothersome like it was with the standard 3.73 gears.

I would also add that extra 1.5" of going to these wide axles also makes a difference in it's stance and handling.
Lol, I've used that front locker on my JL at least twice where it made the difference. But in 17 years with my JK Rubi, I don't think it was ever the difference maker. Just depends on what kinda mess you get yourself into. I think with so many years of off-road experience in the YJ and JK, I became a bit more brave....maybe too brave....with the JL. Which probably isn't that smart because the JL was, by far, the most expensive! LOL!

I use my constantly just so I can hit the disconnect on the sway bar all the time besides its very un-even ground usually full of ruts from articulated trucks 😂

The way I'm mounting the tent will be the absolute lowest it will be able to go on this rack.

Even with HD springs? They are for 400-700lbs constant weight. I'll be around the 350-400 mark without all of my gear. I probably will need to run sandbags.

I have 9ft ceilings so I've been looking at 8ft doors with a jackshaft opener (wall mounted), but not sure I want to invest that time and money into the place when we hope to move in the next 5 years.

Got new tires today. Trail Blade x/t. Thanks to the tire jockey at the corporate store, I'm now waiting for them to order me new center caps. They told me the screws were seized on and would have to break them off to balance tires. I said, ok, so when I get home and take the screws out, YOU are replacing them? Yes, they agreed, thinking I wouldn't be able to. Welp, 5min after being home, all 8 that they couldn't budge, easily came out for me. A quick phone call to manager, an email with manufacturer and model, and now they order me new center caps. Told him, maybe they should trying hand tools before deciding to smash off caps. Simple ratchet with h5 Allen key took em right out, even the bent 1's from smashing. Sorry for the rant, they're making it right, just a lil pissed.

if your cap has "decorative" allen heads molded into the cap as well as the two functioning per cap, i'll bet you they put the allen wrench in the decorative heads.

Can someone please explain to me what does "ole uga uga" mean, if I had to guess is it some type of caveman language? :CWL:

Idk, seized, to me, means won't turn. I think the dummy heads still spin. These caps have 3 screws 2 dummies. Oddly enough, they were able to get 1 screw out of each cap. So, did they spin the dummies and give up?
