If the old man wanted to keep me busy when working on something. He would say "Fetch me a 10mm socket".

Sounds like middle child syndrome. Nobody noticed you.
I was a very late in life surprise child. Last of seven. I went to military school.

I was sitting at a stop light and was rear-ended by a car that was pushed into me by another car where the driver dropped his sunglasses and reached over to get them and BAM. Hit the car behind me shoving it forward.
The guy got mad at ME for pushing his insurance to pay for both vehicles' damages. He was mad because we were there, not because he was an idiot who couldn't wait to get his sunglasses.
He did get a ticket for failure to stop, etc. which he tried to fight using the excuse he was reaching for sunglasses he dropped, as if oh, well , that's different. The lack of intelligent life on this planet is why we haven't seen any real first contact from aliens. They figured nothing here to be of interest. They already have zoos full of dumb creatures.

Only on every engine and split tractor case job Dad ever did . Too hard to hang up a trouble Light it was easier just to have me hold the flashlight or the trouble light which held an incandescent bulb and the slightest bump blowed the bulb out... Oh yeah, remember very well.

I installed my Rubicon sway bar with the EVO manual disconnect.

jt sway bar.webp
The Evo knob costs more, but after having the cheap eBay knurled knob, the easy to grip Evo is the better choice.

I've seen enough home-made ones that if I ever decided to go that route, I have knobs like they use that could be used on the threaded rod. They are available everywhere. Still not worth their price, sorry, when you can come up with the materials for under $15 and maybe an hour's time.

If I were to notch the ebay version, it would be more useable, but closer to that price. https://ebay.us/m/glEzOO

One of these days............................
I ended up removing the skid plate brackets to get access to the sway bar mounting bolts. My recollection is that your skid plate brackets aren't as easily removable, so you might want to take a look to see if you can even get the sway bar bolts out. Otherwise it could be a spring project after your plow bracket removal.

Due to your current physical restrictions, when you're ready I can help get yours to where you can work on it and you can also see how well the manual knob works.
