I might have to move so I can get one.
CT is to boring to ever think of doing something like that. Of course I can get a lighthouse plate or one of the antique car plates if my vehicle is 20yrs old and put it on a 2003 Toyota Corolla like some of the tit heads I see on the road! ☹

Pistol mount to the JL but doing the same to the JT.

My only issue with this style of mount is, being right handed, the interference of the console with my hand.

I went this route:

It's a Dara Holster that is kydex made with a RAM ball attached.

https://daraholsters.com/mountable-holster-standard/

They used to make a kit specific for the JK/JKU (which I have in my JKUR) so I just used a similar series of RAM Mount arms and clamp to attach to one of the bars under the seat.

Realistically, once you have the holster with the ball mount adapter on it, you can do just about anything from there:

Driving away will get you shot but reaching for the gun won't?
From someone who has been in an attempted car jacking, I now just lock my doors as soon as I’m in the truck.

But most importantly, I’d be afraid of getting shot by police if they saw a sidearm mounted there. I’ve already had them draw on me just for reaching for the registration in the glovebox

Did a little "ingenuity project" today versus the direct bolt on type of project...these are my favorites.

Some nights when the breeze is still or maybe its just a bit warmer than I'd like, it would be nice to have a fan blowing in my Roof Top Tent.

Thanks to Amazon and $23 bucks I had in my pocket:

I had previously wired my James Baroud Evasion with a USB hub, so I had power but needed to figure out how to mount it. I love my RTT but "mounting" things in it isn't really easy.

I drilled through the "trim" pieces that actually support the tent material and riveted two neodymium magnets:

At first I tried using the sticky backed metal plates on the fan back plate but it was too heavy, which I suspected it would be. So I mounted two more magnets inside the back cover of the fan (I used some chipped magnets I had because it didn't really matter inside the fan base):

Et Voila! It is rock solid, removable and will be just right on those doldrum nights:

As a former LEO I understand getting a weapon drawn on you. I would ask to just consider the other side of the coin for second. Chances are the officer already knows you have a firearm when he is running your tag. Especially if runs it before he ever gets out of the car.

Secondly, with cops being shot at just about everyday in this country you can't blame him for being super sensitive. Now imagine that happening 10 times a day x 5 days a week. I think you can see how an officer has to have the attitude of everyone has a gun. Even if you don't, he probably thinks that you do. Criminals aren't going to have a CHP and they certainly aren't going to tell the officer right off the bat either.

Best thing I can suggest is if you are pulled over is to roll down all your windows, turn the engine off and place both hands on the steering wheel. Keep looking straight forward and not over your shoulder or watching him in your rear view mirror. If you need something out of the glove box, ask the officer if you can get that before just reaching for it. If it is a night stop, turn on your interior light.

I would suggest you tell the officer you have a weapon and where it is located. Not all states require that, but some do according to your CHP. YMMV. Once he figures out who you are and you understand what is going on, usually tensions will ease. Treat him with respect and you'll get respect in return most of the time. Don't lie because chances are he already knows things he hasn't even asked you.

Look, we all know being pulled over is not fun. Being the guy who is pulling you over is not a whole lot of fun either because you are most likely going to be dealing with someone who isn't happy either. They want to be able to go home at the end of their shift and see their family as well. Pretty much everyone is going to lie to them. Not saying you are, but the general public will lie straight to your face. If you were speeding, he probably already knows this. If you ran the stop sign or whatever, he will know. If you are straight with them, most of the time they will be straight with you.

Yes there are some bad apples out there and I've run into them as a civilian. All you can do is be the best you there is and then see where it shakes out.

Little customization touches this week and one practical mod. Added some speaker trim covers in red to make them pop a bit more, circular metalic knob covers, logo transfer stickers either side of the truck above the badging and a set of gas hood struts. I've got a third logo transfer sticker for the gas tank cover, debating wether to add it or not.

Headed out to Moab in a week so I got myself a new toy. We’ll be trailside lunching in style now!

Setpower PT55 combo fridge/freezer.
It’s currently wired directly to my battery. I had put a Anderson connection in the bed about a year ago. So I have it plugged into that. And two hours of it being set for 0° in the freezer, and 35° on the fridge side, my battery went from 12.4 V to 12.2 V. So it will be fine when were stopped for lunch or dinner. In the evenings I’ll just plug it into the wall of the place we’re staying at the power overnight.

I know they’ll be some doubters out there on this because I was skeptical too…but I did some before and after measurements on my JT for getting my Fox 2.5 DSCs installed. Again, just shocks, no new springs.

Overall each corner experienced about a .5” increase. I measured in the exact same spots and with the truck positioned in the exact same spot. Even the ambient temperatures were similar (78 deg.F vs 82 deg.F). The only thing that was different between measurement conditions was that the post install measurement took place immediately after driving. It may settle around back to where I measured before making the rest of this post irrelevant.

Idk I just thought it was interesting. It seems possible because it takes all my weight to push down those shocks (210lbs). It takes a good bit of my strength to make the truck budge when pulling UP on the bumper. Obviously I am not strong enough to lift the rear of a truck by myself. The springs and shocks are aiding me in this. My guess is that if shocks are pressured enough, you will see some lift sometimes on vehicles.

Edit: Oh yea, and my rear diff is leaking ?
