We called that concept ”tear offs” during my desert racing motorcycle days about a 100 years ago…they had tabs on the side of each shield attached to the helmet, one gets muddy/dirty just reach up and rip off the dirty one and clean for another lap.

Looks like the same ones I installed today. My OEM latches have been a frequent snack for the squirrels in my neighborhood so I’m hoping they don’t like the taste of these, lol. And extremely straight forward and easy install I might add.

OMG! Squirrels, that’s crazy! You will have to let me know how they stand up. Don’t think our squirrels are that hungry / aggressive here. LOL

Cut the extrusions for my goose gear clone. All thats left is drilling the mounting holes in the main panels for the extrustions and cutting out the hatch openings. Man I wish I had a CNC Router.. doing this manually really sucks LOL.

Heres the 40% so far.

I'm getting close to finishing revision #3 of my rear seat delete. I started out with one similar to GooseGear with enclosed sides and a hatch to store items underneath, but I hated it. To access anything stored underneath you have to empty out everything stored on the platform. Didn't sound bad to me at first, but after a couple trips I was over it. Now I've got a solid platform with no hatches and the sides are open so I can access underneath. Much gooder.

Well, they already started trying to snack on the new latches. Unbelievable. So far, they haven’t gotten very far. Maybe the new latches are too hard or don’t taste very good. If these fail, I see no option but to go to metal latches.

Try some peppermint spray on them. It worked wonders for me when mine was outside.

I’d also put a peppermint packet inside your air box, under the filter. I had chipmunks in there.

As if I am not already paranoid enough about any damage to my brand new JT, now I have to worry about squirrel and chipmunk attacks! 😱

Yeah stored outside animals will get to cars. I had something tear the fender off my VW once out here. Literally teeth marks all over the fender and it was half removed from the vehicle. Think it was a cat after a rabbit. They used to love sleeping in the engine bay.

An unusual 78 degrees here in MN. Annual right of spring . . . Changed over to the Bestop Sunrider and my summer (smaller) mudflaps.

There is a product that you paint on (finger nail paint size bottle) that is used for cats that chew, might work for your tree rat munchers? I’ll see if I can find a brand name.
it’s called Yuck Spray.

Finished up the install of the RSE step sliders and skid plates.

Even with an induction heater the body mount bolts were still nerve wracking. I guess the quote "What doesn't kill me, makes me stronger." applies here.

Did the install by myself, so a lot of blue painter's tape was used in order to make sure the bump strips ended up in the right place.

Gladiator? Found my creak. The heim joint on the PSC ram. Not much to do about that. Sprayed some lithium grease on it and it's better. You can't hear it outside the vehicle anyway, just annoying to hear inside but now that I know what it is not a big deal. You only hear it near full lock at a stop. This is why I never suggest heim joints to people... I know there are several "solutions" to the noise around the market like boots for the joint... if anybody has first hand experience I'd love to hear it.

Then I rolled the TJ into the garage and started working on it again... this is now about 8 years into a supercharging project and it's finally running pretty damn good. I think I'm happy with it.
