Swapped out my tonneau cover and billiebars for an aluminum topper. Found a guy selling them out of his garage for a good price including installation. Gotta be buying in bulk straight from China and reselling. Fit, finish, and function is good...and I couldn't justify the $$$ for a smart cap or overpaying for the same thing with a name plate slapped on from one of the online 4x4 sellers.

I made a little headway in my wiring project yesterday.

I got the 8ga hot and ground run back along the passenger side rail and into the eventual location of the Blue Sea subpanel and 30a breaker. I ran the ground back along the hot into the front kick panel chassis ground.

I made a small panel for the breaker/sub panel out of scrap 1/2 baltic i had laying around the shop. I eased all the edges with a round over and sprayed it with a couple coats of Rustoleum bed liner.

I still am fiddling with the fridge platform. The under seat bin won't allow anything more than 1/2" and even then the seat doesn't come down exactly flush with the 40% side. What i've got here is a template for the platform for proof of concept.

I like the bin, it holds all my recovery gear and ratchet straps but I'm considering removing it and building a full width bin into the platform that can work with my plan.

If that happens, im using the 1/2" as a template and making the top 3/4" baltic to handle the weight of the fully loaded fridge. I also glued up 2 pieces of 3/4" to use as a support in front of the bin. I'm debating on painting it or carpeting it at the end but that's a ways off, same with a cover

Also, my Metalcloak diff guards are coming today. Which means this weekend i may wind up tackling my diff fluid changes and getting the assorted parts out of the dining room, to the chagrin of Ms. BourbonRunner.

Looks great! My recommendation for a cover, is snap in carpet…gets nasty, out it comes, hose it off and it’s perfect for sand, better sound insulater.

That is what they recommend, as to should, that is open to debate of when it is prudent to replace earlier.

Not arguing the point but I've always tried to do maintenance and replace wear items BEFORE the factory intervals as a small insurance policy to keep the vehicle in good condition. And if there's a new part that improves upon whats on there, i'm 100% going that direction soon as i can.

Retired. Finally !!
It is a bear but at least it just kinda uses brute force. I’m a heck of a lot better at that than making intricate connections on comm wires. For me that is just frustrating as all hell. Give me regular electrical stuff and some solder filled connectors any day of the week.
I joined a GMRS web site to ask a few questions. I told of my install and how the antenna wire was 19' long and my Gladiator from bumper to bumper is a tad over 18' so the wire is insanely long for my install and what would be the "ideal" length for the coax. I learned that length didn't matter and coiling the cable for GMRS has no ill effect on the radio or signal. But I could trim it for cleanliness purposes. That was echoed by several members. I was leaning back on my 1970's CB knowledge where that was a strict no-no. Looks like I can let sleeping dogs lie and coil that sucker up.

But, I know myself. I'll eventually end up cutting it to length and solder on a new PL259. I'm somewhat proficient in soldering, back on my employment days I had to solder pins on a PCB from time to time. Towards the end of my career I had to use those flip down magnifying visors; my eyes ain't what they once were....🤓

Probably a mod that shouldn't been done sooner rather than later. I deleted my aux battery. Even though I've disabled start/stop with my tazer I didn't want to deal with any aux battery issues. I've already had to replace once.

Gotta be buying in bulk straight from China and reselling. How much? Notice any change in how it drives with what I assume is stock Mojave suspension?

I like the looks of that. I like the idea of being less expensive even better.
Good for you.
