Odds are very high if you try to remove the decal, it will stretch and never fit right again when you re-apply. I know on Adventure Life decals (my personal favorite), using a heat gun activates the glue, so on their decals you can pull and reset the decal until it's where you like it. Give a a swipe with your heat gun; it's set. I like that concept. On the star decals I have on the bed, I bought some cheapies off Amazon. I used the wet method and hinge method to apply those; I highly doubt they are quality vinyl. I've been lucky these past few years; I haven't had to chase wrinkles out of a decal, not fun.

If you've never done wet method: A squirt of baby shampoo in a spray bottle, fill with distilled water, shake to mix. Mist decal area very well. Apply the decal and you can easily slide it to exactly where you want it. When satisfied, using a credit card wrapped in paper towel (or buy a decal squeegee), start in the center and work your way out. Lightly tamp the decal with a fresh paper towel and let it sit for a couple hours to totally dry.
That's how I applied these, the wet method. I couldn't get it to line up correctly with the gap but I didn't think about shoving the edge down into the gap between the fake vent and the fender. It wasn't until I watched another video that I realized that's how it was meant to be applied. When I put it on I thought it would cause the decal to be rippled because it's radiused and not flat.

It only slightly bothers me so I guess I'll just leave it be for now. I don't want to risk ripping these.

I appreciate the tips!

This is for both of you in the decal placement discussion, I was told to use glass cleaner for the wet method you’re referring to. The reasoning behind this is that soap, even just residue, tends to mold over time if it’s trapped somewhere, whereas window cleaner flashes off with heat is applied. Have you found this to be true or false?

They are LB Designworks. I watched one of their videos and saw how they tucked them in tighter. I might pull them off and give it a try. I was afraid that the radius would cause them to wrinkle up and not be flat. The video showed him using a heat gun to help smooth them out.
Yeah I used a heat gun to work the vinyl. I did a wet application with the adventure life decals so that I could work it with heat and keep the adhesive from activating. Pic of the day I installed it 18 months ago and then recent.

I added around 250HP via a MD flag crab and US Flag sticker and installed Seat Jackers on the passenger side. I also took all four doors off for the first time and rolled around all over today running appointments and errands. And got double ducked in the Target parking lot.

Here in MD we put our flag on EVERYTHING. Mostly because it's the coolest flag in the country.

Meanwhile, Texas said, "Hey Maryland, hold my beer."

These crazy Texans not only put multiple state flag decals on their vehicles, they run with two tall 6' flag poles on their tailgates, rear windows are complete Texas flags decals, I even seen full body wraps in the state flag. If they saw your decal, they'd say, "Awwww, lookie the cute wittle flag !!".

I like to tease them, though. I say, "One star ? So standard rating is from 1 to 4 stars and Texas gets the lowest ? And you brag about this ?" Typically met with, "Go back home, Yankee.". And other things not polite to post.

The first vehicle where I went anal in cleaning was my brand new 1987 Suzuki Samurai. One weekend while in my parents driveway (too dangerous to have your legs sticking out at my apartment complex), my little sister came out and was teasing me, "WHO will see that ?? WHY are you doing that ? You're crazy !!". My Dad, walking by asks my sister, "Do you only brush your front teeth ? No one can see the back teeth.". She snorts and goes in the house. I scooted out and stood up and said, "Thanks, Dad.". My Dad goes, "Oh, kid, I wasn't defending you. What you are doing IS crazy, she's right, there. I just wanted to shut your sister up.".

Right now my Dad is looking down from heaven and gave Raquel Welch a nudge and said, "Look. Look at my crazy son. He's at it again." Raquel looks, says, "Why is he doing that ?" My Dad says, "Here knows." She says, "Huh ?" "Well, I can't say heaven knows because we're already here.". Then they laugh and go to their favorite Pub. Beers are free.

What's that famous song by Styx ? Oh yeah, "Too Much Time on My Hands".

Yeah, that's what I got....

My latest "project" and I use that word loosely. For those that were in Motor T, you'll get my latest folly. I saw this decal (actually a stencil in the military) on every vehicle in the motor pool. Sitting around, bored, I did the "Eh, why not ? It's removable, nothing permanent.". So I did.

Hope you all laugh as loud as I did..... I know, beyond silly. But I bet it will bring the Motor T guys to my Jeep !! (probably to ask why or what is wrong with me....)
