Towards a cliff. 😳
Trying not to. I kept the foot on the brakes and the wheels pointed towards the mountain...but the Jeep insisted on sliding backwards, going wherever it wanted.

I am yet to understand how in a state that locks up the engine bay ... and restricts everything else to save the environment you can unabashed run the dunes and rocks on public land .... yet here in NH no emissions or inspections not even a seat belt law.... yet we get one small off road park and if my tires hit the beach I'm getting fined
Yes. For all the bad rep California gets, the state does a great job of ensuring that the public retains access to off-road trails.

By contrast, despite the thousands of forest roads going in every direction here in Washington State, 90% of them are behind a locked gate.

I lived in California for 20 years: access to world-class off-roading was never a problem.

Stupid grippy rocks, long wheelbase still a factor in some spots, even with all the chopping and shortening I've done... but I absolutely fell in love with the beauty in the area and the wheeling is different than anything I've ever done so far...

Go further west, you'll be even more in love with Moabs slick rocks and feeling like youre wheeling on Mars.

you can manually engage the FAD if remove it and lock it over with a hose clamp and put it back on
People used to do that a lot with the vacuum operated system. The hoses either rotted or cracked and suddenly, no axle lock.
It's a simple thing - sleeve that locks the halves together and the motor just slides a fork over to operate that sleeve.

Install the Hooke Bumper.. Hey Hooke; very poor instructions especially about wiring and this: didn't clear the bumper hitch top bung/bolt - break out grinder\ with cut off wheel to reduce - lower bung to flush along with cut down the top bolt.

Found out the Mojave makes a good snow plow truck.
The width vs. an Overland is a bit of a negative as I had more issues with the tires out there packing the snow to ice and being unable to move it with the blade, but otherwise, it worked very well.
The overland tires being tucked in a bit, the tiny bit of width difference does matter, but it still worked fine. I just have to put up with less clean edges of the driveway where the wider Mojave runs over the snow as it comes off the plow blade. The Overland tires ran a bit more behind the blade. I have the widest plow available for a Jeep.

Super nice to be able to do. Why not weld 2” of sheet metal to each side of your blade to widen it? Tacked 18 gauge?
