Rattle can in tow.

Figured I’d start with something looking nice only to get the hell knocked out of it. 😳😳👍🏻
I’ve hit boulders square with the rear one so the Jeep stops in it’s tracks, but it’s designed so well the pinion doesn’t get touched. I can just drag the diff over the boulder with zero issues.

Not directly Jeep-related, but outdoors and overland related…

Got all the bits and pieces in to build my first aid / trauma kit.

It’ll stay under the rear seat for now. I eventually plan to get molle panels in the bed, at which time I’ll mount it back there near the tail gate along with the fire extinguisher.

The pack is from Amazon (sold by MediTac), but it’s basically the same bag that MyMedic used to use for their MyFAK large and still uses for the Construction Pro kit. I’ve hacked it a bit by adding Velcro in a few spots and repurposing the patches from another kit for easier way finding.

I’ve moved things around a bit and stuffed more in it since this picture was taken, but this is what it looks like when it’s fully opened. I had to add the Velcro to the flaps to make them stay shut. Otherwise it was a real pain to open and close. But that was just another $4 on Amazon.

It’s a big kit. Not the kind of thing you’ll fit in a backpack or glove box,

Skid plates for my RSE Gen3 steps, and frame side LCA skids from Rock Hard 4x4.
How did your frame skids mount up? I can't get passenger on - interference from tank skid:

Does your tank skid have that circled tab there? It is literally impossible to mount. Should I just cut the skid down?

Will be getting the Joolca Nomad hot water system and Dobinsons 3" extreme heavy duty rear springs. Had a hard time deciding between heavy duty (400-600lb) and extreme (800-1000lb), went with extreme. Hoping that's not too stiff.

My gas tank skid is different, as I have the belly skid from next venture, but it’s thicker than the stock skid. I was under the impression that it would go on easily with stock skids. I’ll look for some pictures. It’s been a couple of months since I put them on, but I trimmed one of them, but due to the next venture skids. I’m almost sure it was the passenger side rear frame LCA skid.

These aren’t perfect pictures, and I trimmed the skid more than was necessary, but here goes. It has held up great under lots of abuse. Three pictures of the passenger side. One of the driver.

2 guys posted their stock skids. Looks like my tab is bent out more than others. Ugh.

What's the best tool to cut a notch in with?
If it were me, I’d gently try to bend in that tab on the gas tank skid. Don’t try to notch the tank skid on the vehicle. Too much rush of hitting the plastic tank. I’d you not have the LCA skid like I did, I used a grinder. But since you don’t have one. Sawzall, band saw, etc will work fine. Then just repaint it with chassis paint.

I’ve been very impressed with my LOYO headlights. I ordered some fender DRL/Turn Signals from them too. I’ll install them sometime after Thanksgiving
