Midland MXT275. Quickly learned at Gulches that no comms on the trail sucks. Most of my club is still running CBs but I'm sure they'll eventually switch over, so I'm ahead of the curve at least. Also ordered ghost antenna and universal lip mount to mount it on the rear of the hood in front of the cowl. Thinking that will provide a better ground plane than the a-pillar.

I have a Rubicon steel bumper and passenger side headlight bucket coming in the mail. Hit a deer.
I’m having a hard time deciding on a front bumper, which is probably why I haven’t really been thinking about ordering one yet. After this morning, when I literally drove BETWEEN two deer hauling a*# across the road, the motivation to order has just ramped up! I don’t know how there isn’t any deer hair on the front right or rear left corners of my bumpers 🤬

This. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow - fingers crossed.

I can afford to have my bed Linex'd but why? SIX HUNDRED-FIFTY dollars was the quote. That's ridiculous. I've been using a big piece of cardboard on the bed floor til it got wet. Threw it out, washed & dried bed today as prep for putting this in. I'm a LITTLE worried water will get trapped under it but I have an Access roll up tonneau on the truck and it has allowed very little car washing water and no rain so far.

I have that liner now for over a year with no problems of moisture under it when it rains. I do live in San Diego so it doesn’t rain much and except for the rubber smell the first month it has been great

I put that in a couple weeks ago. I have limited experience with radios, but it seems to do pretty well. I pick up a repeater (I assume) that chirps the call sign in Morse code every 15 minutes for a pretty good distance.

Our recent camping trip, my wife and her sister talk back and forth when we start getting in the woods. On the highway occasional chatter. I think at one point we were about 4 miles apart in the Cascades and that was about the range of their handheld.

I routed my antenna through the back of the sliding window and have it stuck on my roof rack.

I forgot to mention, my kit to convert the rubicon rails into slider steps is enroute too. I can’t believe I’m like $10k into mods. I mean I can, but if you ask my wife it’ all free and leftover parts.

Not in the mail but on Friday I go get my HardRock full width alu bumper. That and the Mopar enhanced roc rails will pit me at $4600 with no end in sight. How do I do it??? wife left 25 years ago, both kids have passed, no grandchildren, no siblings left, don't smoke, drink, gamble, and the women always say no. Am I lucky or cursed?

Good to know, thanks for the info. I assume it'll be rolled up when it arrives and plan to lay it out in the sun a few hours to get it to relax (fingers crossed). Does the raised edge fit tightly around the perimeter? If it doesn't I suppose I can MAKE IT with a heat gun and a little persuasion.
