What is this panel for in the bed on the driver side?

There have been several threads on it, but nothing definitive. It's a new addition. The square panel on the passenger side is for the optional 110v outlet.

The optional bed outlet spot is a square cover on the passenger side.

Nope, that's on the other side, a smaller square, and has been since day one.
There are two other threads on this, and I even showed a photo of the SAME panel in a Ram truck in one of those threads.
Sales guys say it's likely for the setup similar to what Ford has for their electric vehicles, another says it's likely for a device similar to the 4xe "power pack" or whatever it's called, but then that plugs into the charging port to give you 115v power.

So far, it's a guess (NO ONE KNOWS other than design engineers at FCA), other than it's showing up now as the JT 4xe is in the works,
and - it's also on Ram trucks ->

The same bed panels would be used in/on all Gladiators, Sport to Mojave so it would be there.
