This happened to a buddy with a Road Armor tire carrier bumper. The body mounts weren't welded right at the bumper. The whole thing slowly peeled away till the tire was leaning back at a 45 degree angle. The arm pivot held though....

100%. Same swing gate, same problem, even cracked the steel where the pivot goes through the bumper.

You nailed it on 35-inch as max, otherwise the tire covers the tail light....

I welded in a plate on the back side, plus flat bar vertical reinforcement plus a gusset on the arm that connects to the pivot. Still have to try that out.
Also adding a "foot" on the bumper, so the swing gate rests on it in the center, instead of just relying on the pivot as the only support for the gate.
Nice "beginning" of a design, needs some more support on execution.
Yes - I expected problems, just not this much.
Thank you for this! JCR made me feel like I was going crazy when I was emailing them about this. I’m just going to be pulling mine off completely once I finish my other 15 projects.

I did the desert does it seat slammers because I'm a tall guy and extra leg room sounded nice. The leg room is as advertised, but now I feel like I'm sitting on the frame and I can feel every little bump and road imperfection way more. And I don't have the funds or resources to buy and reinstall a stock seat.

My tube side steps.
I liked the picture of them online. I don't really like how they look on my rig. I like my factory rock rails, but no one at the time made steps to fit on them. I bought these big tube steps when I was on med leave from work to get my knees rebuilt. Well, now that my knees are stronger again, I don't kneed steps, but my friends do, so I need to have steps. However, I am looking at the different clip on steps for the factory rock rails.....
If I get these, I will take my tube steps to a swap meet or something.

Have faith. It’s a pretty good product and if it isn’t for you they have bang on customer service. I’ve called and emailed a few times with different negligible things and they’ve been able to help or replace anything that wasn’t exactly right.

At the moment, Badlands 3 ton Jack WITHOUT A MOUNT. It’s the only 1 I have that will reach and feel secure enough off-road. It is absolute hell getting in and out of the jeep though. I’m looking at replacing with one of those jack stand/bottle jack things. Less room taken up and more convenient. Just hope it has the reach and I’ll probably cobble up a stand to make it sit more securely.
I love my Power Mountain Tallboy Off-Road Bottle Jack. I bought mine from eTrailer.com
