I’m about to pull the trigger on wheels for my sport s (non max tow).
The tricky part is I installed rubicon fenders so now my stockers are tucked. (A little)
I’m wanting to run 37s with a 2.5 to 3.5 inch lift. I’m looking at a 17x8.5 0 offset with 4.75 backspacing. Will that work? I dont care to have any poke but at least flush. What will I be looking at? Flush or a little poke? Also will I be good as far as rubbing on anything?
thanks for any Pointers.

MOST lift manufacturers call for 4.50" of back space.

A small group of manufacturers call for 3.5" of back space.

Your best bet, find the lift you want to use, then ask THEM, not a reseller, what back space they require on wheels.

I run that rim setup with 35x10.5 on a wide track axle model Gladiator. So you’d have about 0.75” less poke with a 10.5 tire. More with a larger tire.

Just bought wheels yesterday. The offset is what you need to look at, that's going to give you poke or no poke. These are 17x9 4.5 backspacing with -12mm offset. Just the stance I was looking for. This is with Rubicon Front springs, 2.5" Readylift SST lift kit. Wheels are Fuel Enduro, mines a Max Tow sport also. Tires are 37 12.5 17 Kanati Trail hogs.

I used the following site to help visualize how the offset and tire size when I was shopping for new wheels. It'll give you a good idea of the amount of poke you'll get.

Offset or backspacing, doesn't matter.

As long as you know one or the other plus the wheel width.
