I’m looking at adding a winch to my Mojave and will be replacing the front bumper so I’m wondering what you all do with you practically new hardware after replacing it.
My factory bumper is almost brand new but I don’t want it taking up space in my garage and don’t want to just toss it either.

look at what is on FB Market place and Craigslist that are plentifull and not selling . I have had 4 Red rubicon shocks I bought for a hundred bucks , and I can't get 50 bucks for them . Their are plenty of old stock parts on each place and not much moves . I end up giving them away or have the local scrap guy get rid of itor I will be over run with basically junk . .

In my area, OEM plastic bumpers priced anything higher than a $100 will hardly move. Below that, they eventually move but may take a month or two sometimes. Other take off stuff like control arms and track bars you might as well set out for the scrap metal guy. OEM Rubicon Fox shocks were an easy $150 sell on Craigslist but not really anymore. Any sport, max tow or overland black shock you are wasting your time trying to sell locally.

I would suggest if possible to keep your OEM bumper as when it eventually comes time to sell or trade, you may want to decontent your current winch and bumper setup and go back OEM.

Save it all. You never know when or what you may decide ( or someone else may decide for you) in the future.

Little pieces, trims, plastic 2 piece trim fasteners, cowl screw's after you mount a CB and leave off black hex bolt off on purpose to mount antenna. Save it all. Cubby pocket at bottom of center dash from from when you installed a custom mount CB in the dash. Front Air dams. Front trim piece between the plastic bumper and the lower grill ( and the 7 2-piece fasteners)

Save it al. Much of it went back in in the past 3 days preparing for sale. 8/2019 purchase.

#SaveIt.

I knew I would get Good advise here.
I like the idea of keeping it and if I ever sell the Mojave I can switch back and possibly sell the upgraded hardware.
It is the stock plastic so probably wouldn’t sell and won’t take much space leaning against the wall.
Thanks

Unless you're needing the money, I'd strongly recommend keeping it or any parts you upgrade. Life happens and if you damage the part and can't justify a repurchase at least you have the stock part to get you by. Also, If you end up selling the vehicle either for an upgrade or again if life happens and you can't justify the ownership at that time, at least you can put the stock parts back on and possibly use them on a future purchase. Just my $0.02.

I believe the standard procedure is fill the shed.

If anyone has a plastic oem rear bumper for a 2021 Max Tow and lives in Florida, let me know how much you want for it. I really need one.

I have upgraded all my JTR suspension and the factory parts are worth nothing. CA, TB, shocks, diff covers springs. I would give them away to get rid of them. Going in the trash bin. Would be thousands at the. dealer. The new normal.

I kept everything I took off my 2020 when I was doing any mods.
When I traded it in, the dealers wanted the truck put back to stock - just as it came from the factory.
So back on went the bumper, back in went the factory springs and shocks and control arms and other stuff.
Nice because then when my 2022 came in, some of that stuff went onto it. And I'll do the same if I ever trade the 2022 in - dealers around here want them back stock..
Few people want a used coloring book.

That's because other than the springs, most of that stuff is the same as on the other levels.
Track bar, sway bar links, control arms, etc. - same as my Overland. I know - way back I bought "Rubicon take-off suspension" and the only thing of any value were the springs - but then really not that much value either unless someone wants a small dirt-cheap lift. The shocks weren't worth crap, and the other parts were the same as what was on my Overland. Oh, well, if I tear up any bushings or whatever, I have some spare parts!

I keep my OE takeoffs, never know when you will need a spare part, or if something unexpected happens and I have to sell, I can put it back to nearly-stock and we'll the upgrades separately for more money.

I especially like keeping OE suspension parts so I can keep driving while the nice stuff is off for a rebuild and new seals.

Our shed is about 30% full of motorcycle and vehicle parts.
