Can run in 4low as long as I want to, but after I hit the sway bar disconnect, it throws a message "service 4 wheel drive system".

I can use the sway bar disconnect in 4hi without issue so sway bar disconnect is working properly, it just doesn't want to play nice with 4low.

Can you check to see what, if any, fault codes are getting thrown?

Do you have a Tazer or similar device installed? If so, have you tried unmarrying/removing it to see if that stops the problem?

I have heard that your error message is associated to the lockers, especially the locker position indication. If it is the lockers your symptoms sort of make sense. That is assuming your Gladiator is a Rubicon.

Are your lockers engaging?

Yes, lockers are engaging without issue (verified on a recent trip in CO). Able to drive normally with Offroad+, all lockers, etc but in 4 low, when I hit the disconnect, it throws the dash light.

I don't have a a tazer but definitely need to get one. Don't know if any fault codes are happening but can see the light on the dash that says "service 4wd system". I turn the Jeep off, turn it back on and it is all good.

My understanding, and it is not detailed as I have not directly dealt with this issue, is when the computer senses an issue with the locker position indicator, it will automatically disable certain functions, such as disable use of the lockers, I do not know if it disables the sway bar disconnect functionality or not. The service manual is cumbersome and I have not found your specific error message and what triggers it.

If your lockers are engaging then I would disregard my comments and focus on the specific parameters required to disengage the sway bar. All commands to engage or disengage the sway bar or lock, unlock the lockers are from the computer, the switches only tell the computer what you want to do.

Its most likely having an issue with a sensor when using the combination you asking about. now which sensor? idk, you'd have to pull the code.
