Rocksalt, do you have the wheel hop dampener?
https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/what-is-this-bilstein-diff-shock.24509/

I have a Rubicon and it has significant rear wheel hop in snow and sand. I replaced the shocks and it made no difference. I am thinking of adding the wheel hop dampener to see what effect it has, but if you have it and are still getting wheel hop maybe I will save my money.

the parts are available-68341435AC
no I dont have that... wheel hop occurred last year but curiuosly not in rhis year snow.. I think maybe last yesr snow had flash freeze ice underneath. This year didnt. That is just my guess.

I think we need to change out the rear control are bushings to something to control the rear axle better.
I’m thinking the axel end of the lower arm may be the best place to start.
I loath the wheel hop and I don’t mind trading in some NVH.

I ordered the Mopar parts to add the "wheel hop dampener". Should be here next week, while there is still snow nearby to test it.

I've had that happen in every 4wd I've been in, both in snow and sand. It happens when your traction isn't all translated to forward progress and that torque has to go somewhere. I recently saw it on an old episode of Top Gear where they tested a Raptor vs a Z71 in snow. I'd say it's normal, not good... but it does happen in certain conditions. Best to just slow way down until you get moving.

Maybe you've seen a stuck big-rig, a semi, and watched those things hop. Tires spin then grip, spin then grip, spin then grip, and any movement at all in the suspension makes it worse. Almost any truck will do it, especially with a light a$$-end.
I've never had it happen to me but............ I won't say that it CAN'T, just that it hasn't.
It's not good, things can break.
As far as my cars - on my 68 I had slapper bars, on my 70 I had factory torque links and on my 73 I have CalTracs.
If I ever have a problem with my JT - I'll sure look into dealing with it but so far...... it's fine.
