Where to mount 5 Gallon NATO Jerry Can?

Any suggestions on where to mount a 5 Gallon NATO Jerry Can (Rubicon Gladiator with an ARE CX Top, Hi Lift Jack is mounted below the rail system on the right side). Any mounting kits out there? Block/Bolt and hang it from the rail system feels sketchy. Thoughts / ideas appreciated. Thanks!

Depending on your skill set you could make a fuel can basket out of some 1/8 by 1in strap metal to hold fuel cans. Or you can buy some from Amazon or Summit racing, or other companies.

I've got 2 of this one on my LJ rear bumper.

I have a Wavian 5 gallon and molle panels in my bed. I also run a hard Tonneau cover. I put the Wavian on its side with the cap facing up, then, I ratchet strap lengthwise very tight (under the handles) the wavian to my Molle panels. I can close my tonneau cover, and I ran that way through the Rubicon trail with no issues, no leak, no smell... Here is a pic from the Rubicon trail trip.

PS. I also bought the Wavian Red Long Nose Flexible Pouring Spout (4136-RED) - which makes it very easy to add the gas to the gas tank vs. the short plastic push pour one that comes with the Wavian. This is highly recommended.

I'm also looking for an external mount for Jerry cans. Found the side mounts in front of the door but without a rack system have found little else. Is anyone familiar with the Hitchgate Red Jerry Can Kit?

Seems as though options are pretty limited for the Gladiator. If you don't have a spare tire mount on your bumper or an open bed it seems the only options are bolt on the fender, door mounts or mount it on a roof rack.
I don't want something that won't let me open the tailgate, I don't want fuel inside my SmartCap, on the roof rack is not optimal especially difficult for me to haul it up and down from up there.
Looks like a fender/door mount is my only option. If anyone has found a solution that works well for them I would love to hear about it. Going to pull the trigger in the new year on the best option I can find by then. TIA.

Did 14,000 miles cross country using the Wavian cans and mounts and Billie bars and their Molex panels. The only bummer was that you would think that after all these yours that the Wavian mounts would work with Molex stuff. But they did not and I had to build brackets to mount them to the Molex panels.

i also looked at roof racks that mounted to the roof and only covered the rear doors but ultimately decided that the combined weight of the rack, cans and gas exceeded what Mopar recommended attaching to the roof.

Not a lot of options out there. I had the Sparkwhiz mounts that Blade1668 suggests above, but they didnt hold up to off-road abuse and they started to sag off of the truck.
I'm now thinking about purchasing these and attaching to my BillieBars side molle panel. They appear to be much sturdier (though a lot more $$ for the pair)
