Years ago when I was a younger man it rained so many days in a row that a friend and I got the wild hair to try to escape it. We packed a couple of folding lounge chairs and sleeping bags and drove toward where we thought we'd find sunshine, buying whatever else we needed along the way. It took us two days to get out from under the cloud. We stopped at the first sunshine we found and spent a week there, camping out and sleeping in the open air.

I've lived in St George for 13 months and haven't even seen 2" of rain total. I don't really care if it rains where I live as long as the mountains and soccer fields get rain. I was so worried about parking my Jeep outside when I moved here. I figured any rain would bake on the paint, but I find if I just give it a bath soon after it's fine. Sure does make washing the Jeep easy when it's literally just dust. Every couple of weeks I treat the plastics and seals with 303 and so far it has worked well.

People here are freaking out about the hot weather we're having... just like we have for decades we live in the freaking desert but the news media wants to blame... you know what. We haven't even gone over 110° this year.

Think it last rained here in SE TX sometime in early July and I haven't mowed the lawn in over 3 weeks. If it wasn't for the beach we wouldn't see water at all.
