Who else is happy with the Pentastar?

It works great for how I use it. I tow 5900lbs and have a 125lb RTT on top of a 40-50lb rack.
It's 2 hours each way to where I offroad up and down some very hilly roads. Zero issues. 8 Speed works fantastic with it, even when shifting manually.

2016 Alfa Romeo 4c Spider.

It's good enough. I've been there done that with high performance vehicles. The 3.6 does what I need it to do. Funny thing is, I guess just with the weight difference, my wife's wrangler with the 3.6 feels like a rocket ship. The gladiator's performance keeps me content. It's not a race car. As long as it keeps rolling, I have no complaints.

Weight matters - thus the removal of heaters, wipers, back seats, etc. when making a strip car, even street/strip cars get stripped of as much excess weight as possible. I'd bet if everything else was 100% equal, tunes and all, the Wrangler would indeed feel like it had a bigger engine just due to weight differences.

It’s adequate for my needs. Didn’t have an issue in either my JKU or JT, has enough power to tow and haul, gets decent gas mileage for the vehicle weight and aerodynamics (or lack thereof, rather).

More power and fuel efficiency wouldn’t be frowned on, but I could say that about any engine ?

Zero complaints with the pentastar I loved it with my 6 speed jlru. I moved up from a 6 speed 3.6 jk 2 door, and it was night and day. Easy to self maintain too.

That being said, I shrugged the concerns and went with the diesel when I traded it in for the jtr. No complaints so far, certainly not as hard working of an engine as my 3.6. My first automatic though and the 8 speed is incredible.

i enjoy it very much. I just added muffler too. I came from a Taco 3.4, and before that was a 4.0l TJ, i have had the 2.5l YJ and a 360CID grand waggy, and the 2.8l Cherokee XJ. even a 4.0 $runner. This is the best one of the lot.

I suppose it's all relative and subject to your own experience and expectations.

My last few vehicles had pretty underwhelming performance and I didn't expect the gladiator be quick quite or high performance vehicle so I was pretty happy with the engine and got more or less what I expected.

Also the way I drive doesn't really demand any more performance then offered.

I have found it exceptionally smooth with the 8 speed compared to my 2014 JKU, Grand Wagoner, XJ and C101.

kinda happy too. smooth engine works great and if I had to complain about something it would be not torquy enough at low rpm. would be awesome to have few buckets of torque more.

That is beautiful. Love the color, looks great on that body.
My wife was a Camaro girl when we met, even for a few years after. She had a 90 Camaro she really loved - then I traded it for a truck and I still hear about that to this day, 25 years later.
For a long time after, she'd ask "is that the new Camaro" when she saw one on the highway. But she got her first Grand Cherokee and almost forgot about Camaros.
Damn, that thing is a beaut. It may not go everywhere, but where it goes it can get you there fast.

I had a 68 Camaro back in 1990 man i loved that one, this ZL-1 is just unreal zero to 60 in less than 3.5 seconds top speed 198 .
