My brother sold a ZL1 1LE that he loved for his Gladiator. He says the Gladiator is his favorite of everything he's owned.I sold this yesterday and it was crazy powerful, working on getting a Mojave with the faithful 3.6

Mine basically matches my LS equipped 2011 Silverado I had. To be fair, I had a trailer that was 500 pounds heavier when I had the Chevy.Happy so far...No idea what people complain about as far as power. It has much more than I expected after driving 8's all my life. It is not a race car, and anyone expecting it to me bought the wrong vehicle. It is an extremely versatile truck with as much power that anyone would need for normal street driving and off-road adventures. (No comment on towing as it is not something I do but I got the tow package just in case. And it does seems to meet the needs of most in this area for people with reasonable expectations as far as I can tell from fellow members here).
Need is the key word.No idea what people complain about as far as power. . . It is an extremely versatile truck with as much power that anyone would need for normal street driving and off-road adventures.
If I feel the need for noise and power, I could finish putting the interior back in this one.....Need is the key word.
Is it enough for what I need? Yes.
Do I wish it weren't so sluggish off the line, and roared like a 392? Also yes.
"Wish" sure all other things equal, same gas mileage, same cost NOOB, and all the other goodness WTH not. But that isn't reality.Need is the key word.

It will scoot and get you merged into traffic when necessary. It's done a nice job when clowns try to close gaps so others can't merge in. It's also surprised more than one person when they pulled along side me at a light when their lane ended on the other side of the intersection and they ended up having to slow and fall in behind me. It's no race truck but it's not a 1.3 liter pinto, either."Wish" sure all other things equal, same gas mileage, same cost NOOB, and all the other goodness wth not.
But I honestly haven't experienced any sluggishness of any kind. (Caveat, in fairness, I don't tow, and I don't drag race off the line (not with this vehicle anyway), maybe I'd have a different opinion if I did)...
I would enjoy doing some desert racing with the bigger engine. There is one vid floating out there where some young women with help from her dad raced in the stock class with her Gladiator. She had to beef up the roll cadge and what not. I don't know if she did anything to the engine if it is stock class, but she won the divison in one of the popular races out west.It will scoot and get you merged into traffic when necessary. Hmmm, good questions. Not sure why the 55 limit in "the book" or what the issue would be.I would enjoy doing some desert racing with the bigger engine. I wonder what these stock dessert races do to the transfer case given that manual says no going over 55 in 4wd-High...I'm sure in this kind of racing they go much faster. Do you know?
